Seahawks at Football Team (-1): O/U 46.5
Russell Wilson has been money on Monday Night Football. He is 10-2 on the ML (83.3%) and 6-5-1 ATS (54.5%), per NBC’s Edge Finder.
The Seahawks quarterback has won four straight MNF games. Wilson has only been the underdog twice on MNF, going 2-2 ATS and on the ML.
With that being said, I am fading the Hawks. Why? A lot of signs are pointing to this being Wilson’s last season with Seattle and this team is showing no signs of fight.
Outside of the obvious, the word is Wilson’s actively searching for his next team as we speak. Seattle sits at 3-7 on the season and the Washington Football Team is 4-6.
Washington has two straight wins over Tampa Bay and Carolina after the bye week. Seattle has lost two straight and sit at 1-5 on the ML in the past six games.
Both squads have a long shot at making the postseason, but the loser will more than likely be done for the season.
Looking over Seattle’s 2021, it is obvious Wilson came back from injury too early, and the injury itself was detrimental to the season’s success, while Washington has life after the bye week.
NBC’s model projects the most value on Washington’s spread and the ML, aligning with my Blitzing the Board play.
This season, both squads defenses rank bottom eight in passing DVOA and top 11 in rushing DVOA. However, Seattle struggles to get turnovers. They Hawks have nine takeaways on the year, ranking 30th in the league.
When Taylor Heinicke throws an interception this season, Washington is 1-5 on the ML. When he does not throw an interception, Washington is 3-1 and on a three-game winning streak. That stat could be the difference on Monday.
I like the chances Heinicke and guys like Antonio Gibson, Terry McLaurin, J.D. McKissic and perhaps Jaret Patterson can have themselves a day in multiple ways.
This Seahawks team looks like it quit, while Washington has life after wins against Tom Brady and Cam Newton.
