Rocker will receive an extra day of rest with Cal Quantrill being moved up to take the ball on Saturday afternoon against Detroit. The 26-year-old has strung together back-to-back strong outings, striking out 14 batters and allowing just two runs over 11 innings against the Blue Jays and Marlins in his last two starts. There’s some definite streaming appeal for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues based on his recent efforts.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #11
It’ll be rookie Sean Sullivan drawing the starting assignment at Coors Field in his place. The 36-year-old veteran has been dealing with a finger issue since his previous outing against the Twins last week, but it’s a back-related issue that will keep him from taking the ball this weekend. It sounds like this could become an injured list situation if he’s not ready to pitch in a couple days.
  • MIN Center Fielder #25
Buxton returns to Minnesota’s lineup in center field and hitting second following an extended four-game absence due to a right hip impingement. It’s his first game action since June 28. The 32-year-old has been one of the most impactful all-around fantasy contributors this season, delivering a stellar .268/.323/.573 slash line with 56 runs scored, 25 homers, 43 RBI and seven steals across 329 plate appearances over 73 games. It’s an extremely encouraging development for fantasy managers that he’s managed to avoid a trip to the injured list.
  • LAA Center Fielder #27
Trout went through his normal pregame routine prior to Friday’s showdown against the visiting Red Sox at Angel Stadium and appears on track to return next week without requiring a rehab assignment. The 34-year-old generational talent has been recovering from a hamstring strain that put him on the shelf back on June 18. It also looks increasingly likely that the New Jersey native will be ready for the upcoming Midsummer Classic in Philadelphia in mid-July. If so, it would mark his 12th career All-Star selection and first appearance since 2019.
  • CWS 1st Baseman #5
Venable didn’t offer an exact timeline for Murakami to kick off a rehab assignment, adding that he’ll need to run the bases before he’s officially cleared. The original expectation was that he would miss 4-6 weeks after being diagnosed with a Grade 2 hamstring strain back in late May. The fact that he’s progressed to on-field hitting means he’s getting close to game action again. There should be a definitive update on his status in the coming days. Fantasy managers should anticipate Murakami making it back to Chicago sometime around this month’s All-Star break.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher
Anderson has put up video game-like numbers in his professional debut this season, compiling a sparkling 1.36 ERA and 108/10 K/BB ratio across 72 2/3 innings over 14 starts. All of the damage against him on Friday came on a pair of solo homers. The 21-year-old southpaw is at the forefront of any best pitching prospect in baseball debates and will headline the American League’s roster at the All-Star Futures Game in a couple weeks. He’s a strong candidate to skip Triple-A entirely and join Seattle’s pitching mix later this summer, either as a traditional starter or a multi-inning relief weapon.
  • COL Center Fielder #31
Talk about stuffing the stat sheet. McCarthy was an unstoppable force here. He started the game off with a loud 440 foot homer on the first pitch Logan Webb threw and smashed a 427 foot grand slam later on in the fifth inning. Between those, he was in the middle of a couple more rallies and has been scalding hot for a while now with seven home runs, five stolen bases, and a .347/.379/.621 slash line over his last 30 games. He’s also hit lead-off against the last 13 right-handed pitchers his Rockies have faced. That’s not too shabby!
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #17
The discomfort is in his pitching arm, though he said he felt it while batting in his last at-bat. Shutting Ohtani down as a pitcher for a spell would doom his Cy Young chances, but it might be the right call for the Dodgers’ World Series chances. Still, at this point, the Dodgers are terming Friday’s removal as precautionary. If he feels better, he could DH on Sunday. Dalton Rushing or Teoscar Hernández figures to DH on Saturday.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #84
Jeff Hoffman and Louis Varland finished up the four-hitter. Cease allowed three hits and walked one in his fourth scoreless start this season. He’s second in the majors with 137 strikeouts and 11th with a 2.79 ERA. He’s given up five homers, which is tied with Ranger Suarez for the lowest total among qualified starters. Although Cease finished second in the AL Cy Young balloting in 2022 and fourth in the NL balloting in 2026, the All-Star nod he’s sure to pick up on Saturday will be the first of his career.
  • TB 3rd Baseman #13
He will not stop. After his six-game home run streak was snapped on Thursday, he may have started another one here with his 25th home run on the season. This now makes it 10 homers in 10 games for the 22-year-old phenom just one day shy of his 23rd birthday. The ‘must watch’ label isn’t thrown around too often in baseball, but Caminero with his prodigious power, infectious energy, and demonstrative celebrations is absolutely a must watch player right now.
