Blackmon expected to play in Bedlam game vs. Sooners

As the clock continues to tick down to arguably the biggest game in the history of the Oklahoma State football program, it still appears likely that the Cowboys will have the nation’s top receiver statistically at their disposal.

Justin Blackmon did not practice again Wednesday because of an ankle in jury suffered in the win over Kansas this past weekend. A source told Tulsa World that the wide receiver continues to receive treatment on the ankle and remains on track to play against Oklahoma.

The same paper reported earlier in the week that head coach Mike Gundy didn’t appear to be concerned about Blackmon’s availability for Bedlam, a game that, if the Cowboys win, would give them the Big 12 South title and a spot in the Big 12 championship game against either Nebraska or Missouri.

Blackmon, named earlier in the week as one of the three finalists for the Biletnikoff Award, leads the nation in receiving yards (1,560) and receiving touchdowns (17). His 94 receptions are second only to the 106 of Ryan Broyles, who will also take part in the Bedlam game as a wide receiver for the Sooners.
