Last week brought word of blind long-snapper Jake Olson (pictured, right) being cleared by the NCAA and fulfilling his lifelong dream of becoming a USC Trojan football player. Wednesday, Olson took a rather large step in turning his dream of actually playing for his beloved Trojans into a reality.
During USC’s practice session, Olson, a long-snapper, took part in a live rep in a field-goal drill for his first time since officially being added to the roster. Olson, who snapped for his high school football team after losing his sight to cancer as a 12-year-old, apparently nailed it in his first pressure situation at the collegiate level.

It appears that the football program also has a plan in place to get the freshman some meaningful playing time, perhaps as early as this season.
