Bobby Hebert’s son busted for DUI

The son of former NFL quarterback and bayou-legend-in-perpetuity Bobby Hebert has been arrested for driving while not sober, the Shreveport Times is reporting.

According to the paper, LSU offensive lineman Bobby “T-Bob” Hebert was charged with driving while intoxicated after being pulled over by police very early Saturday morning.

The redshirt sophomore, who started every game at center for the Tigers in 2009 with the exception of their bowl game, was released from jail mid-afternoon on the same day of his arrest.

Hebert’s lawyer was quoted by the Times in their piece, but shed little light on the situation.

“I don’t know a lot right now,” attorney Nathan Fisher said. “I haven’t seen a police report, and I haven’t discussed things fully with him (Hebert). So I don’t think it’s appropriate to say much now.”

While we are not ones to step onto the soapbox and preach loudly and fervently to the masses over issues such as this, let this serve as a lesson to anyone and everyone who happens upon this post, lest the same mistake is repeated and passed down from generation to generation: Nothing -- nothing -- good ever comes from willingly being referred to as “T-Bob”.

Nothing.

Ever.
