One of the more bizarre offseason storylines we have seen has revolved around Texas head coach Charlie Strong and the possibility he may have to testify in a legal battle back in Louisville. It turns out, he will not have to testify after all.
According to The Courier-Journal, a divorce settlement has been reached in the divorce of University of Louisville trustee Jonathan Blue and his ex-wife Tracy Blue. Jonathan Blue accused his ex-wife of having an affair with Strong when he was the head football coach at Louisville. A hearing was scheduled for Friday that would have turned over texts and emails allegedly between Strong and Tracy Blue since 2012, but because a settlement has reportedly been reached, there will be no need for that sharing of information. It also means there will be no need for a deposition for Strong’s testimony.
“I’m not party to their divorce and have received no court order in this case,” Strong said in a statement released over the weekend. “I certainly respect the legal system, and if I do receive a court order, I will review it and respond then. Since this is a legal case, it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to say anything further at this time.”
Strong insisted the legal battle in Louisville would have no impact on his job performance at Texas.
