JAGODZINSKI, DEFILIPPO MEETING

Dan Patrick, who has been as plugged in as anyone regarding the bizarre developments at Boston College, reports that coach Jeff Jagodzinski currently is meeting with Athletic Director Gene DeFilippo regarding Jagodzinski’s interview for the Jets head-coaching job.Per Patrick, DeFilippo got his DeFruit of the Looms in a bunch because he learned of Jagodzinski’s interview with the Jets from a reporter.Supposedly, if Jagodzinski had merely sought permission to interview for the job, DeFilippo would have been placated.It remains to be seen whether this can be worked out. All prior signs indicated that Jagodzinski would be fired.Maybe DeFilippo realizes that it costs a lot less money to swallow pride than it does to buy out a head-coaching contract.
