JUCO the landing spot for Miss. St. lineman Kent Flowers

Shortly after Mississippi State’s spring practice came to an end in April, Kent Flowers opted to transfer out of Dan Mullen’s football program. The thing is, nobody had caught wind of it... until now.

According to Mike Bonner of the Jackson Clarion-Ledger and Robbie Faulk of 247Sports.com, who each cite Cliff Furr as the source, Flowers (pictured, No. 74) has decided to continue his collegiate playing career at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Mississippi. Flowers is not yet listed on the Wolfpack’s official online roster, for whatever that’s worth.

Because Co-Lin is a JUCO, the offensive lineman will be eligible to play immediately in 2015.

A three-star member of MSU’s 2013 recruiting class, Flowers was rated by Rivals.com as the No. 17 player at any position in the state of Mississippi. After taking a redshirt as a true freshman, Flowers played in the first six games of the 2014 season before seeing his playing time fall off a cliff the last half of the year.

On the Bulldogs’ most recent depth chart, Flowers had been listed as the No. 2 left guard.
