Rutgers head coach Kyle Flood is expected to finish filling out his staff by hiring ex-Tampa Bay assistant coach Ben McDaniels to coach wide receivers, the NJ Star Ledger reported on Monday.
McDaniels, the younger brother of New England offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, worked with both the quarterbacks and receivers for the Buccaneers last season. Before that he was the offensive coordinator at Columbia and an offensive assistant at Denver when his brother was the head coach.
That now makes four new assistants that Flood has hired in the off-season, along with offensive coordinator Ralph Friedgen, offensive line coach Mitch Browning and linebackers coach Bob Fraser.
The new-look Rutgers staff will begin its first spring practice as a Big Ten program on March 25.
