Stephen Morris blasts USF for being a ‘dirty’ team

For the second straight game, Stephen Morris exited early thanks to an ankle injury. The manner in which he exited this one, though, left Miami’s starting quarterback seething.

Following the Hurricanes’ 49-21 laugher over USF, Morris ripped into the Bulls, labeling them “dirty” and saying he had “no respect for them at all. Morris intimated that USF defensive players were twisting his injured ankle at the bottom of piles, which prompted him to ask to come out of the game.

“When your down under [the pile] and everybody is on top they’re going to try and go for your ankles and everything. We were already up three, four touchdowns so I was like there ain’t no point for me to try to mess with these guys. They’re dirty. It is what is. I wanted to score 70 points on them. They disrespected us. I had no respect for them at all. At that point I felt like we should just keep pushing it, keep killing them.”

USF’s alleged dirty play had little impact on Morris’ health as the player said afterwards that his ankle “feels great.” There should be no issue at all with Morris’ availability for the ACC opener against Georgia Tech this Saturday.

For the game that essentially served as a warm-up for that opener, Morris completed 11-of-16 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns.
