Our friends at PFT (actually, we think they’re assholes) have posted a blurb regarding the status of the Denver Broncos’ coaching search. As it turns out, Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops won’t be a candidate for the job.Stoops recently said that he hadn’t been contacted, and he suggested that he’s not interested. Then again, we never rule out anything. If the Sooners beat the Gators by 30 points on Thursday night, securing the BcS National Championship, maybe the Broncos decide to give him a ring tomorrow. It wouldn’t be the first time that NFL types get hot and bothered based on a bowl game performance, as evidenced by the pre-draft ascensions of players like Vince Young and JaMarcus Russell.
