Tide, Ducks Bovada’s co-CFP favorites

At least as far as one wagering website is concerned, the top two teams in the country aren’t considered the favorites to claim the first College Football Playoff trophy.

Instead, in Bovada.lv‘s latest odds release, Alabama and Oregon are listed as the co-favorites at 4/1 to win the 2014 championship. Both of those odds are slightly shorter than a week ago, when the former was at 5/1 and the latter 9/2.

Second-ranked Florida State remains at 6/1, while top-ranked Mississippi State, 7/1 seven days ago, now stands at 15/2. TCU, meanwhile, leapfrogged MSU and is now at 6/1, up from 10/1.

Thanks to its impressive road win over Michigan State, Ohio State jumped from 14/1 up to 8/1. The loss dropped the Spartans from 8/1 to off the board.

Of those who remained a part of Bovada‘s latest set of odds, Auburn took the most precipitous drop, going from 10/1 to 33/1 coming off its upset loss to Texas A&M. Ole Miss, at 25/1, has the best odds for a two-loss team.

Baylor, on the strength of its historic thumping of Oklahoma in Norman, rocketed from 40/1 to 16/1.

Below is the complete set of odds, again courtesy of Bovada.lv.
