Washington State redshirt senior S Skyler Thomas re-entered the transfer portal.
Thomas (5'9/185) initially entered his name in the portal back on August 18th before pulling his name out three days later. Apparently he has re-considered his options as the redshirt senior will look to transfer as a graduate once again. Thomas appeared in 13 games for the Cougars last season, starting 12, and he finished with 72 total tackles (41 solo, 2.0 for loss), four interceptions, seven passes defensed and two fumble recoveries.

  • Washington State redshirt senior S Skyler Thomas entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Thomas (5'9/185) is the second Washington State player to enter the portal in as many days, with senior WR Tay Martin doing so on Monday. The redshirt senior safety appeared in 13 games for the Cougars last season, starting 12, and he finished with 72 total tackles (41 solo, 2.0 for loss), four interceptions, seven passes defensed and two fumble recoveries. Thomas likely would have anchored the Washington State secondary in 2021 had he remained in Pullman, but there may be the opportunity for him to play this season due the Pac-12 postponing all fall sports.

  • Washington State redshirt sophomore S Skyler Thomas was ejected in the first quarter of Saturday’s game against Utah for targeting.
Since the ejection occurred in the first half, Thomas will be available from the start when the Cougars visit Oregon State October 6. As for the remainder of Saturday’s game against Utah, redshirt junior Deion Singleton replaced Thomas at free safety.
