Saints selected Samford S Corey White with the No. 162 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.
White played cornerback for Samford, but an excellent tackler and run defender, he’s expected to be switched to safety by the Saints. At 5-foot-11, 206 pounds, he has standard safety size. White will primarily play on special teams as a rookie, but gives the Saints insurance at safety in case Roman Harper is suspended for his role in the team’s bounty scandal.
  • FA Defensive Back
Saints fifth-rounder Corey White is expected to battle Johnny Patrick for the third cornerback spot.
Patrick will be the heavy favorite. The Saints appreciate White’s size, speed, confidence, and press ability, but he may have a learning curve coming from small school Samford. The Saints will hold off on moving White to safety for now.
  • FA Defensive Back
Saints agreed to terms with fifth-round CB Corey White and seventh-round OT Marcel Jones on four-year contracts.
Coming from small-school Samford, the Saints plan to let White compete with Johnny Patrick for nickel duties in camp. It’s a battle Patrick should easily win, leaving White to play primarily special teams as a rookie. Jones is a massive 6-foot-6, 320 pounds, but had a poor Combine following an injury-marred college career. He’s likely ticketed for the practice squad.
  • FA Defensive Back
Saints placed CB Corey White on injured reserve with a knee injury, ending his season.
A fifth-round pick in last April’s draft, White had been serving as the Saints’ nickel back before first going down in Week 10. He had appeared in just one game since. White should be 100 percent well ahead of training camp, and will likely open 2013 as New Orleans’ No. 3 or 4 corner.
  • FA Defensive Back
Saints CB Corey White (knee) has been ruled out for Week 14.
White has battled the knee issue over the last month, missing two games before returning last week to play special teams. Johnny Patrick has handled White’s nickel duties over the last three games, and will serve as the Saints slot cornerback in Sunday’s game against the Giants.
  • FA Defensive Back
Jets signed CB Corey White, formerly of the Bills.
White can supposedly play safety, but has manned corner his entire NFL career. Capable of playing both inside and out, he’s a versatile depth piece, though not a terribly-effective one. White played 412 snaps on defense for the Bills in 2016.
  • FA Defensive Back
Colts signed CB Corey White, formerly of the Bills.
White appeared in 15 games for the Bills last season, making four starts and totaling 412 snaps. Clearly looking for secondary help, the Colts added both White and CB Chris Culliver on Monday. The cornerback job opposite Vontae Davis remains a sore spot on defense. It’s anybody’s job.
  • FA Defensive Back
Colts released/waived CB Corey White, OLB Akeem Ayers, OLB Lavar Edwards, RB Daryl Richardson, ILB Sean Spence, CB Dante Blackmon, DT Josh Boyd, WR Marvin Bracy, WR Fred Brown, OT Fahn Cooper, S Tyson Graham Jr., S Lee Hightower, WR Bug Howard, TE Henry Krieger-Coble, WR Justice Liggins, RB De’Mard Llorens, DT T.Y. McGill, WR JoJo Natson, DT David Parry, RB Troymaine Pope, OG Adam Redmond, WR Brian Riley, ILB Darnell Sankey, WR Valdez Showers, OLB Garrett Sickels, DE Jhaustin Thomas, OT Arturo Uzdavinis, OG Terran Vaughn, QB Phillip Walker, S Andrew Williamson, and OT Andrew Wylie.
There aren’t really any surprises. Parry was a 2016 contributor, but had some off-field trouble in the offseason. The moves get the Colts down to 53 players.
  • FA Defensive Back
Jets placed CB Corey White on injured reserve with a back injury.
He hurt his back on the first day of camp. In addition to placing White on I.R., the Jets waived/injured DL Brandin Bryant while signing DL Jeremy Faulk and DL Devon Still. White matched a career-high with two interceptions over 412 snaps for the Bills last season.
  • FA Defensive Back
Saints placed RCB Jabari Greer on injured reserve with a torn left ACL, ending his season.
Greer’s injury had the looks of a season-ender from the start. Greer was not playing at a particularly high level before going down, but had been holding his own for the Saints’ much-improved defense. In the second season of a four-year, $21.1 million contract, Greer has no guaranteed money remaining beyond 2013. Going on 32, he’s due $4.4 million between salary and bonuses in 2014. He may have to be amenable to a pay-cut to keep his roster spot. Second-year pro Corey White will take Greer’s place opposite Keenan Lewis.
