MacKenzie Gore allowed one run and struck out six batters over six innings in a no-decision against the Padres on Saturday.
Gore’s start was moved up to Saturday after Nathan Eovaldi was scratched with knee soreness. He held the Padres scoreless through two innings, then gave up one run on a pair of doubles in the third. Gore settled in to give the Rangers three more scoreless frames, ending his day after six with six strikeouts. The 27-year-old left-hander will take a 4.07 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and a 92/37 K/BB ratio across 84 innings into a start against the Blue Jays in Toronto on Thursday.
