Jackson Holliday (groin) is out of the lineup for Sunday’s series finale against the Dodgers.

No surprise after Holliday was removed from Saturday night’s win at Dodger Stadium with groin tightness. The 22-year-old former top prospect has hit .200 (17-for-85) with 14 runs scored, four homers, 12 RBI and three steals in 29 games since making his season debut back on May 19. He downplayed concern while talking to reporters on Sunday afternoon that he’ll wind up requiring a trip to the injured list ahead of Monday’s series opener against the Angels. It’ll be Jeremiah Jackson filling in at second base and hitting ninth on Sunday afternoon in his place.

Jeremiah Jackson doubled off the bench in his only at-bat, knocking in the go-ahead runs in a 3-2 Orioles win over the Cubs on Thursday.

He’s back! OK, not really. Jackson has only started one game since being recalled on July 3. But he made the most of his opportunity here after the Cubs and Orioles exchanged new relievers and pinch-hitters, culminating in Jackson hitting for announced pinch-hitter Dylan Beavers against new left-hander Ryan Rolison. Jackson doesn’t seem to maintain any fantasy value at the moment, but perhaps this will get him some more run going forward.

Jackson Holliday, who had been hitless in July, went 4-for-4 with a double against the Cubs on Wednesday.

The double traveled 392 feet and would have been a homer in 14 ballparks. Holliday entered the night hitless in his last 13 at-bats and was batting .159 in 97 plate appearances since his last multihit game way back on May 29. This raises his overall average from .183 to .212, and one has to hope he’s now over the Mendoza Line for good.

Orioles recalled INF Jeremiah Jackson from Triple-A Norfolk.

Jackson was just optioned out to Triple-A on Sunday, but he’ll rejoin the big league club with Ryan Helsley (elbow) landing on the injured list on Friday. The 26-year-old infielder has slashed .251/.267/.397 with seven homers, 32 RBI and a pair of stolen bases in 206 plate appearances with the O’s.

Orioles optioned INF Jeremiah Jackson to Triple-A Norfolk.

With Dylan Beavers returning from the injured list on Sunday, someone needed to get the boot from the Orioles’ bench and Jackson drew the short straw this time. The 26-year-old started out the season strong for the Orioles, but has hit just .232/.245/.316 with one homer, eight RBI and a 16/2 K/BB ratio over 98 plate appearances since the start of May.

Jackson Holliday went 1-for-3 with a walk on Friday against the Nationals in his return to the lineup.

Holliday returned to Baltimore’s lineup following a four-game absence due to a lingering groin issue. There was some concern he would wind up requiring a trip to the injured list as the issue persisted, which makes it a positive sign that he was back in the mix for Friday’s series opener.

Jackson Holliday is back in the Orioles lineup Friday following a four-game absence due to groin tightness.

Holliday is playing second base and batting eighth against the Nationals and lefty Andrew Alvarez. This makes 10 times the Orioles have faced lefties since Holliday returned from the IL (not counting Tuesday, when he was hurt). He’s started five of those games and sat five times.

Holliday will miss his third straight contest due to an ongoing groin issue. There’s been no indication that he’ll require a trip to the injured list, but that possibility can’t be completely dismissed. It’ll be Jeremiah Jackson taking another turn at second base in his absence. Holliday is presumably day-to-day heading into Wednesday’s series finale in Los Angeles.

Holliday remains on the bench for the second consecutive contest after exiting Saturday’s game against the Dodgers with groin tightness. It’s always challenging to rule out a potential trip to the injured list, but the Orioles have the depth to give the 22-year-old former top prospect a couple days off before making that determination. He’s presumably day-to-day for now. It’ll be Jeremiah Jackson drawing another start at the keystone in his place at Angel Stadium on Monday night.

Jeremiah Jackson took over at second base after Holliday went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts. This doesn’t appear to be anything significant, but Jackson could start over Holliday on Sunday.

Jackson Holliday homered, walked and scored twice against the Mariners on Wednesday.

Holliday had the two longest-hit balls of the game, coming in at 399 feet with his homer in the ninth and 377 feet on a fifth-inning flyout. He’s still hitting just .194 since his return from a broken hamate bone, but with four homers and 10 walks, his OPS is a more respectable .671.

Myers threw 22 pitches over two innings while giving up a pair of runs against the Red Sox on Saturday and was unlikely to be available for Sunday’s first half finale, so the Mets opted to swap him out for a fresh arm. Myers sports a miserable 6.26 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and a 33/13 K/BB ratio over 46 innings with the Mets this season.

It’s the first trip to the big leagues for the 24-year-old slugger. Ortiz was slashing .235/.332/.481 with 16 homers, 59 RBI and a 60/31 K/BB ratio over 304 plate appearances at Triple-A Rochester. He’s unlikely to see enough playing time to gain any sort of relevance from a fantasy perspective. He’ll serve as the club’s designated hitter and bat third against Yankees’ right-hander Will Warren in his MLB debut on Sunday.
