Kai-Wei Teng pitched well on Sunday against the Guardians, tossing six innings of one-run ball while allowing four hits and one walk.

Teng struck out four and threw 83 pitches, lowering his ERA to 4.03. He’s been a regular in Houston’s rotation over the past month out of necessity, but this was his best start since May 23. The Astros are getting some starting pitchers back healthy now, so Teng could return to the bullpen. The next turn in his rotation lines up against the Tigers on the road.
Swanson red-hot in 'unfathomable' turnaround
James Schiano highlights Dansby Swanson's offensive surge over the past 13 games with the Cubs, which includes nine homers, 29 RBIs, and a place in the history books.

He’ll attempt to work through his issues at the Triple-A level for the time being. William Kempner was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move on Friday.

Willi Castro is absent from the Rockies’ starting lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Giants.

It’s the third time in the last five games that the versatile 29-year-old has found himself out of the Rockies’ lineup. He seems to have been the most impacted by the return of Mickey Moniak from the injured list.

Willy Adames (back) returned to the Giants’ starting lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Rockies in Colorado.

Adames had missed the teams previous three games due to back spasms. He’s feeling much better after the off-day though and is finally ready to return to action. He’s starting at shortstop and batting sixth against Rockies’ right-hander Ryan Feltner on Friday evening.

Kahlil Watson is not in the Guardians’ starting lineup for Friday night’s divisional showdown against the White Sox.

He’ll get a breather with left-hander Anthony Kay on the mound on Friday night though. David Fry will start in left field and bat second for the Guardians.
