Astros placed RHP Kai-Wei Teng on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 28, with a right knee sprain.
Teng suffered the knee injury prior to being optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land last weekend, which is why he’s been placed on Houston’s injured list. He’ll most likely wind up back in the minors once he completes his rehabilitation process and rehab assignment. The 27-year-old lost his rotation spot after posting a bloated 7.77 ERA across 22 innings over five starts in June.
