García appeared to be on the precipice of finally rejoining Toronto’s high-leverage mix, but that’s on hold for now. There should be an update on his status at some point later this week. The 35-year-old has been brought along slowly while making his way back from last year’s elbow surgery. At this point it seems unlikely he’ll return until after next month’s All-Star break.

There should be some clarity on his status and next steps in the coming days, but it seems highly unlikely he’ll make it back with roughly two months left in the season.
