Braves activated RHP Tyler Kinley (elbow) from the 15-day injured list.

Kinley has been out for two weeks with elbow inflammation, so it was just a short stay for the right-hander. He has a 3.18 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 31/10 K/BB ratio in 28 1/3 innings this season and will be welcomed back since Robert Suarez (forearm) is not 100 percent.
Mariners call up elite pitching prospect Anderson
The Seattle Mariners called up top pitching prospect Kade Anderson, who is expected to start against the Chicago Cubs this Saturday. Eric Samulski emphasizes why he should be added in all fantasy formats.

Pirates optioned RHP Antwone Kelly to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Kelly, 22, has struggled in four appearances with the Bucs this season, registering a 5.40 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and a 5/4 K/BB ratio across 8 1/3 innings. He’ll continue to hone his craft at the Triple-A level until another opportunity arises.

Pirates recalled RHP Khristian Curtis from Triple-A Indianapolis.

The 24-year-old right-hander has made just one appearance for the Pirates this season, logging five scoreless innings with a 4/2 K/BB ratio in a bulk relief role. It’s unclear how the Pirates plan to deploy him this time around. Antwone Kelly was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis in a corresponding move on Sunday.

Angels designated RHP Michael Fulmer for assignment.

The Angels needed to clear a spot on their roster for the return of Yusei Kikuchi from the 60-day injured list on Sunday and unfortunately Fulmer wound up as the odd man out. The 33-year-old hurler pitched well in three appearances with the Angels, posting a 1.09 WHIP and a 4/2 K/BB ratio over 3 2/3 scoreless innings. IT wouldn’t be surprising to see him garner interest on waivers.

Angels activated LHP Yusei Kikuchi from the 60-day injured list.

Kikuchi will make his long-awaited return to the Angels’ rotation on Sunday afternoon against the Rangers. The 35-year-old southpaw had been shelved since the end of April due to inflammation in his pitching shoulder. Fantasy managers should take a wait-and-see approach here instead of throwing him right back to the wolves on Sunday.

Reds recall INF Ivan Johnson from Triple-A Louisville.

With Michael Toglia (shoulder) landing on the injured list, Johnson will have another opportunity to show what he’s capable of at the MLB level. The 27-year-old is just 1-for-12 with six strikeouts in 14 plate appearances with the Reds this season.

Reds placed 1B/OF Michael Toglia on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to August 22, with a right shoulder dislocation.

Toglia suffered the injury during Friday night’s contest against the Diamondbacks. The Reds are hopeful that he won’t need much longer than the minimum stint on the injured list. Ivan Johnson was recalled from Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding move on Sunday.

Jarren Duran is absent from the Red Sox’ starting lineup for Sunday’s skirmish against the Giants.

Duran will get a breather with left-hander Matt Wilkinson toeing the slab for the Giants. Eli White will take his place in left field and will bat eighth for the Red Sox on Sunday afternoon at Fenway Park.

Jeff McNeil is not in the Athletics’ starting lineup for Sunday afternoon’s tilt against the Astros.

It appears to be nothing more than a routine day of rest for the 34-year-old infielder. Donovan Walton will start in his place at second base and will bat seventh for the Athletics against Astros’ right-hander Cristian Javier.

CJ Abrams (ankle) was held out of the Nationals’ starting lineup for a fourth consecutive game on Sunday.

Abrams has made progress in his recovery from a sprained left ankle but still isn’t quite ready to rejoin the Nationals’ lineup. It’s possible that he could be available off the bench on Sunday. Nasim Nuñez will once again cover the shortstop position in his absence and will bat eighth for the Nats against Marlins’ right-hander Janson Junk.

Marlins designated LHP John King for assignment.

This move comes as a bit of a surprise as King has actually pitched fairly well for the Marlins this season, registering a 3.99 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and a 33/17 K/BB ratio over 49 2/3 innings of work. He should generate plenty of interest on waivers.
