Jhoan Duran allowed one hit and struck out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save against the Mets on Friday.
Sometimes, Duran takes the mound and it’s difficult to believe anyone has ever gotten a hit off him. Francisco Lindor accomplished that near impossible feat on an odd fair ball called foul, which kept him at first base. It didn’t matter anyway because no one else got close to breaking through. He now has 20 saves, a 1.63 ERA, and 0.94 WHIP just past the midway point of the season.
