Royals optioned CF Kameron Misner to Triple-A Omaha.

Misner saw only sporadic playing time in the bigs, hitting .220/.256/.244 against mostly left-handed pitchers. He’ll head back to the Storm Chasers as outfield depth.

Giants transferred RHP Adrian Houser to the 60-day injured list.

Houser is done for the rest of the season after suffering a forearm strain last week. The 33-year-old is under contract for next season and figures to open in San Francisco’s rotation, assuming that he doesn’t wind up requiring offseason surgery.

Pedro Ramírez (back) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Brewers.

Ramírez takes a seat for the second straight contest due to back spasms. The 22-year-old rookie infielder is presumably available off the bench, if needed. It’ll be Matt Shaw taking over at second base and hitting ninth.

Drew Gilbert was scratched from the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Pirates.

No word yet on the reason for the move. It’ll be Jonah Cox taking over in center field. There should be an update on his status following the contest.

Carlos Estévez will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery.

It’s astounding Estévez didn’t wind up requiring surgery sooner. He dealt with persistent shoulder issues over the last few months after a disastrous spring training where his velocity was down significantly throughout. The odds of Estévez returning to a high-leverage role are extremely slim at this juncture.

Diamondbacks activated OF Lourdes Gurriel Jr. from the 10-day injured list.

Gurriel is back with Arizona, mostly to face left-handed starters in a platoon role, after missing more than six weeks with an adductor strain. He can be safely ignored in nearly all fantasy leagues.

Diamondbacks activated LHP Blake Walston from the 60-day injured list.

Walston returns to Arizona’s relief mix after missing most of the last two seasons recovering from Tommy John surgery. It’s been a long road back for the 25-year-old southpaw who hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since September 24, 2024.

Diamondbacks transferred RHP Ryan Thompson to the 60-day injured list.

The procedural move opens up a spot on Arizona’s 40-man roster. Thompson has been out with a lower back strain since early August.

Nationals transferred C Drew Millas to the 60-day injured list.

The procedural move frees up a spot on Washington’s 40-man roster for prospect Yohandy Morales. Millas hit the injured list with a left index finger fracture back in mid-July.

Nationals selected the contract of 1B/3B Yohandy Morales from Triple-A Rochester.

Morales is at DH and hitting fifth against the Braves in his major-league debut on Tuesday night. He needed to be added to Washington’s 40-man roster to protect him from the upcoming Rule 5 Draft, so it makes sense the club will give him a look at the highest level to close out the year. The power-hitting 24-year-old launched 25 homers in 455 plate appearances at the Triple-A level this season. He doesn’t strike out a ton and could be a fantasy-relevant option at some point in the future if he manages to secure an everyday role with the Nationals. He’s a name to know for the future, but probably isn’t going to play enough to matter down the home stretch.

CJ Abrams (back) is in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Marlins.

Abrams is tentatively back at shortstop after sitting out Monday’s series opener with back tightness. The 25-year-old power/speed combo threat is expected to split time between shortstop and second base over the final couple weeks of the season.
