MLB Network’s Joel Sherman reports that the Dodgers are acquiring reliever Seth Halvorsen from the Rockies for two minor leaguers.

Halvorsen is being sent to Triple-A Oklahoma City. The 26-year-old has a 4.74 ERA in 19 innings this season and a 4.31 ERA in 71 career MLB innings for the Rockies. He also has a triple-digit fastball and had 11 saves for Colorado last year, so this is an interesting add for the Dodgers.
Pages heads to IL, no longer fantasy relevant
Eric Samulski gives the latest on Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages as he was placed on IL and will no longer be relevant for fantasy managers as he is expected to be out most of the remainder of the regular season.

Giants placed 1B Bryce Eldridge on the bereavement list.

Eldridge will be away from the club for the next couple days to attend his grandfather’s funeral. The general expectation is that he’ll be back in advance of Thursday’s series opener against Arizona.

Giants optioned LHP Matt Wilkinson to Triple-A El Paso.

Wilkinson heads back to the minors after allowing four runs over 5 2/3 innings across a pair of opener appearances after being called up last week. The 23-year-old southpaw is an interesting prospect, but he’s not going to make much of a fantasy impact at this stage of his career.

Giants placed SS Willy Adames on the 10-day injured list with a left elbow sprain.

Adames suffered the injury during Sunday’s game against the Red Sox after battling lingering back issues for the past couple weeks. The 30-year-old has been diagnosed with a moderate sprain, according to the team, which means he’s probably going to miss at least a couple weeks.

Giants placed OF Victor Bericoto on the 10-day injured list with a right knee bone bruise.

Bericoto appears to have avoided serious injury when he collided awkwardly with the left-field wall at Fenway Park during Saturday’s game against the Red Sox. Still, he’s going to need some time off to rest and recover.

Giants placed RHP JT Brubaker on the 15-day injured list with bruised ribs.

Brubaker suffered the injury while diving to catch a foul ball during Sunday’s game against the Red Sox. He’s recorded a pair of saves to accompany a strong 3.58 ERA across 60 1/3 innings this season. It’s unclear how much time he’ll miss, but it shouldn’t be a lengthy absence.

White Sox SS/3B prospect Caleb Bonemer will start games in center field later this week for Double-A Birmingham.

Bonemer has played shortstop and third base exclusively at the outset of his professional career, but the White Sox want to expose him to the outfield to add some defensive versatility to his toolbelt and give him additional avenues to at-bats at the highest level. The 20-year-old top prospect has put together an outstanding season, hitting .249/.381/.556 with 33 home runs and 16 steals between Double-A Birmingham and High-A Winston-Salem this season. It’s an interesting wrinkle to monitor as Bonemer heads to the Arizona Fall League in a couple weeks.

Astros re-signed OF Nelson Velázquez to a one-year contract.

The first move of the Jim Crane era is in the books. Velázquez winds up back with the Astros on a new deal after being designated for assignment last week. He went 0-for-4 during a brief three-game stint after being claimed off waivers from the Cardinals earlier this month.

Astros optioned INF Raynel Delgado to Triple-A Sugar Land.

Delgado was brought up over the weekend as extra insurance in case Jeremy Peña (hand) required a trip to the injured list. This move feels like a pretty clear indication that he’ll be ready for Tuesday’s series opener against the Yankees.

Alec Bohm (hamstring) is in the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Mariners.

The Phillies have their full lineup ready to roll as they attempt to win their 10th consecutive game in this one. Bohm is back at first base and hitting fifth after sitting out Sunday’s game against the Cardinals with a hamstring issue. It doesn’t appear to be a significant concern at the moment.

Luis Arraez (lower body) is back in the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Mariners.

Arraez is at second base and hitting cleanup after missing Sunday’s series finale against the Cardinals with a lower-body issue. The contact-oriented 29-year-old is batting .311 (23-for-74) with two homers and 11 RBI in 18 games since coming over from the Giants at the trade deadline.
