Tuesday’s game between the Orioles and Red Sox was postponed due to inclement weather.

It’s been pouring in Boston for most of the afternoon and the decision was made not to take any chances. It’ll be made up as a doubleheader on Wednesday instead. There’s a chance that Ranger Suarez (groin) will be activated to take the ball during the twin bill, but that isn’t official yet. It was going to be Eduardo Rivera starting on Tuesday night in his place. Orioles starter Kyle Bradish will be pushed back to the doubleheader.
Mariners call up elite pitching prospect Anderson
The Seattle Mariners called up top pitching prospect Kade Anderson, who is expected to start against the Chicago Cubs this Saturday. Eric Samulski emphasizes why he should be added in all fantasy formats.

Jo Adell hit a three-run homer to help the Guardians to a 4-3 win over the Rockies on Saturday.

Saying Adell got all of his homer off Gabriel Hughes is an understatement. It traveled an estimated 450 feet to center, and it had an exit velocity of 113.8 mph. That gives him 20 home runs on the season, and it might surprise you that he’s been able to drive in 77 runs despite not exactly playing for the best offenses in baseball. Adell is a very flawed player, but a flawed player who can knock the stuffing out of a baseball here and there.

Tanner Bibee went six innings and allowed only a pair of runs to get a win over the Rockies on Saturday.

Bibee gave up runs in the third and fourth inning, the latter on a solo homer by Mickey Moniak. Outside of that it was a very strong outing for the right-hander that saw him generate 14 swing and misses, strike out six and give up just five hits while lowering his ERA on the 2026 campaign to 3.97. Bibee has not developed into an ace as many hoped he would, but he gets the job done more often than not. A chance to get it done again is scheduled for Friday against the Royals at home.

Gabriel Hughes allowed three runs over five innings in a loss to the Guardians on Saturday.

Hughes kept the Guardians off the board for the first three frames, but he then gave up one of the longest homers we’ve seen this year with a couple of runners on to turn what was a solid -- and surprising -- outing into a middling one. He walked two and struck out a pair while generating only three swings and misses before leaving. Hughes will be back on the bump against the Nationals on Thursday, if there’s no change to the Rockies’ rotation order.

Cade Smith allowed a run but still picked up a save against the Rockies on Saturday while working an inning.

Smith was handed a two-run lead that was immediately halved when Connor Norby took him deep to begin the inning. He retired the next three and added a strikeout to get his 33rd save of the season. That was just the second run that Smith has allowed in August, and his ERA is still an excellent 2.33 on the year.

Mickey Moniak hit a solo homer off the Guardians on Saturday in a loss for the Rockies.

It’s now 21 homers for Moniak, and this one came at the expense of Tanner Bibee. The former first overall pick has enjoyed his new confines since joining Colorado -- that’s an understatement, Moniak’s OPS is close to .400 points higher at home than away -- and while he’s a vastly different player than he looked to be as a prep, he does offer some upside as long as he continues to make Coors Field his home.

Christian Scott allowed four runs in 4 2/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Mets’ 10-5 victory over the White Sox on Saturday.

Scott gave up five hits, walked four and struck out six. The Mets took a 7-3 lead in the top of the fifth inning. In the bottom of the fifth, the White Sox loaded the bases with one out. Scott struck out Andrew Benintendi before walking Braden Montgomery and making the score 7-4. The Mets had to go to the bullpen and Scott was saddled with a no-decision despite New York’s offense supporting him with seven runs. He has a 3.73 ERA. Scott is lined up to face the Astros at home next weekend.

JJ Bleday went 4-for-6 with two runs scored, a double, a triple, a solo home run and three RBI against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Bleday’s home run was his 21st of the season. He hit a solo shot off Zack Littell in the sixth inning to complete the cycle. He’s the first Reds player to hit for the cycle since Elly De La Cruz in 2023. After an out-of-nowhere breakout first half where he hit 16 home runs and .243, Bleday is hitting just .190 with five home runs in 35 games since the All-Star break.
