Max Meyer, who went on the IL on Monday with a neck strain, won’t throw for at least the next two weeks.
That doesn’t bode well for Meyer returning to make a meaningful contribution down the stretch. With two weeks of no throwing and about five weeks of buildup, the best-case scenario is probably him making three starts before the end of the regular season. He could potentially make it back earlier as a reliever, if the Marlins wanted to go that route.
