    Colby Thomas (wrist) remains out of the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Twins.

    There’s been zero indication that Thomas is headed to the injured list despite sitting for the fourth consecutive game. The 25-year-old was diagnosed with a left wrist contusion after being hit by a pitch earlier this week. He remains day-to-day for the moment.

    Gilbert was optioned to Triple-A on Monday and will now be designated for assignment. The 32-year-old allowed eight runs on 12 hits in six innings for the White Sox this season.

    Pham was acquired from the Phillies on Monday. He was 0-for-13 in his brief stint with the Mets earlier this season and hit .245/.330/.370 in 120 plate appearances for the Pirates last year. He figures to be a pinch hitter against lefties off the bench.

    Pirates recalled LHP Brandon Eisert from Triple-A Indianapolis.

    Eisert has a 6.29 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and 40/12 K/BB ratio in 34 1/3 innings between the White Sox and Pirates this season. He’ll give the Pirates some added bullpen depth over the final month.

    Pirates selected the contract of C Christian Bethancourt from Triple-A Indianapolis.

    Bethancourt was acquired from the Yankees just a few weeks ago. He has hit .270/.320/.491 in 67 games at Triple-A between the two organizations, with 14 home runs and five steals. He has not taken an MLB at-bat since 2024.

    Guardians selected the contract of RHP Carlos Hernández from Triple-A Columbus.
