Donovan (groin) homers in rehab game

Lawlar has started five of seven games since returning from the injured list, going 4-for-18 with one homer and three RBI during that span. The 27-year-old will occupy a bench role with the Padres after tearing the cover off the ball at Triple-A El Paso for the last month.

The Padres are going to give outfielder Dustin Harris a look in a bench role with Song heading back to the minors. He’s played sparingly in his first taste of the majors, hitting just .202/.305/.263 with one homer and 12 steals in 134 plate appearances over 62 games in his Padres debut.

Giolito is presumably done for the season after hitting the injured list with elbow inflammation back in late June. The procedural move frees up a spot on San Diego’s 40-man roster for outfielder Dustin Harris.

There was plenty of reason to suspect that Woo would wind up requiring a trip to the injured list after experiencing shoulder soreness during his previous outing against the Astros back on August 16. The 26-year-old was able to complete a bullpen session over the weekend without any issues and should be ready to take the ball later this week. Obviously, fantasy managers should keep a close eye on his status in the coming weeks.
