Freddie Freeman (hand) returned to the Dodgers’ starting lineup for Friday night’s contest against the Diamondbacks.

Freeman was pulled from Wednesday’s game after being hit on the hand by a pitch, but X-rays came back negative and he was able to avoid any significant injuries. He’s right back in there at first base and batting third for the two-time defending World Champions on Friday evening in Arizona.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said X-rays on Freddie Freeman’s right hand came back negative for any fractures.

Freeman isn’t completely out of the woods, but it sounds like early indications are that he managed to avoid serious injury after being hit by a pitch, which led to his removal from Wednesday’s game against the Cubs. The 36-year-old veteran should benefit from an off-day before the Dodgers kick off a three-game series against the division-rival Diamondbacks on Friday.

Freddie Freeman made an early exit from Wednesday’s series finale against the Cubs.

Freeman was replaced by Enrique Hernández at first base with the Dodgers trailing by five runs entering the sixth inning. He was 1-for-3 at the dish prior to exiting. It feels like a workload management decision by Los Angeles to get the 36-year-old veteran off his feet in a one-sided affair, but he didn’t exactly look comfortable in his final at-bat. We’ll have updates on the situation as they unfold, especially if Freeman’s exit winds up being injury-related.

Manager Dave Roberts has Freddie Freeman batting third in the NL’s All-Star lineup for Tuesday’s game.

The Dodgers are spaced out third, fifth and eighth in Roberts’ setup here. The lineup: DH Kyle Schwarber, LF Juan Soto, 1B Freeman, SS CJ Abrams, 3B Max Muncy, 2B Ozzie Albies, RF Brandon Marsh, CF Andy Pages and C Drake Baldwin.

Freddie Freeman hit a solo homer and drove in two runs in a win for the Dodgers on Saturday over the Padres.

Freeman also singled and a walke for a three-reach day. He gave the Dodgers all the offense they’d need with Yoshinobu Yamamoto and the Los Angeles bullpen breezing through the San Diego lineup when he connected on his 15th homer of the campaign. He also singled in a run, and he’s up to 49 RBI while improving his line to .297/.387/.508. Regression comes for everyone at some point. It doesn’t appear to be coming for Freeman anytime soon.

Freddie Freeman went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and a walk Tuesday in the Dodgers’ 12-3 defeat of the Twins.

The two doubles put Freeman at 566 for his career, pushing him past Carlos Beltrán for 29th place on the all-time list. He also moved out of a tie with Bobby Abreu and Carlos Lee and into a tie with Garret Anderson and Orlando Cepeda for 87th place on the RBI list at 1,365. He’s hitting .296/.387/.531 with five homers this month.

Freddie Freeman went 1-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two RBI, and two runs scored as the Dodgers defeated the Rays 5-4 on Wednesday.

Freeman belted a go-ahead, two-run shot off reliever Kevin Kelly in the bottom of the sixth, his 12th of the season. The 36-year-old first baseman continues to age gracefully as his wRC+ has been between 136 and 139 in each of the past three seasons. Freeman isn’t a true standout in any single roto category, but hitting in the heart of the Dodger lineup will provide plenty of counting stats to go along with a strong batting average.

Freddie Freeman went 2-for-4 with an RBI on Tuesday, leading the Dodgers to a blowout win over the Pirates.

Freeman collected the 2,500th hit of his career with a run-scoring single to center field, doing so during the Dodgers’ 10-run seventh inning in which 15 batters came to the plate. The 36-year-old first baseman is the majors’ active leader in hits and the first to reach the milestone since Robinson Canó in 2019. He’s in the middle of an extended hot streak at the dish, batting .345 (20-for-58) with four homers and 13 RBI over his last 15 games.

Freddie Freeman went 2-for-3 with a solo home run to walk off the Dodgers in a 1-0 win over the Angels.

Both the Dodgers and Angels were shut out through eight innings of a pitcher’s duel at Dodger Stadium on Friday. Freeman had drawn a walk and had one hit before stepping in to bat in the bottom of the ninth, leading off against Kirby Yates. The 36-year-old first baseman delivered with a solo blast to center field to walk it off with his tenth home run of the season.

Freddie Freeman went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer to lift the Dodgers to a 6-5 win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Freeman gave the Dodgers an early lead with a two-run homer off Mike Soroka in the first inning. He later singled in the fifth. The 36-year-old first baseman enjoyed an excellent month of May, hitting .287 with five homers. Tuesday’s blast was his ninth of the season while hitting .274/.360/.475 with 30 runs scored and 32 RBI across 253 plate appearances.

Freddie Freeman hit a solo home run to help the Dodgers beat the Rockies on Wednesday.

Freeman doubled the Dodgers’ lead to 2-0 with a solo homer off Tomoyuki Sugano in the first inning; one batter after Shohei Ohtani clobbered a solo shot to begin the game. He also singled to bump his slash to .271/.368/.462. That’s far from an unplayable slash, but a smidgen disappointing just because Freeman has been so much better than that line over his career.

Tigers promoted C/1B Josue Briceño to Triple-A Toledo.

Briceño is the 54th-ranked prospect in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline. He hit .297/.382/.672 in 17 games at Double-A after being activated from the 60-day IL in July following wrist surgery. Briceño also tallied eight home runs, 19 RBI, and a 16/9 K/BB ratio. He’ll likely need to play first base long-term in Detroit with Dillon Dingler entrenched as the team’s franchise catcher.

Brewers promoted 1B prospect Blake Burke to Triple-A Nashville.

Burke slashed .285/.367/.603 in 96 games with Double-A Biloxi. He posted 30 home runs, 88 RBI, and 28 steals but also had a 102/44 K/BB ratio. The Brewers’ offense rarely has a hitter with this type of power and swing-and-miss, so it will be interesting to see how Burke fits as he rises up the affiliates.

Mets INF prospect Billy Amick went 1-for-3 with a walk and a three-run home run for Double-A Binghamton on Sunday.

Amick came to the Mets in a deadline deal for A.J. Minter and has been on fire since. In his seven games in the Mets organization, he’s hitting .333/.429/.958 with five home runs, 13 RBI, and one steal. He does have 11 strikeouts in those seven games, so swing-and-miss will always be part of his game, but he has 28 home runs in 93 total games at Triple-A this season, so the power is very real.

After grounding out in his first at-bat, Tatis only barely missed in his second, hitting a 359-foot flyout. After that came the 421-foot homer and 386-foot double. He has three homers in five games. Since finally delivering his first homer on May 30, he’s hit .294/.347/.506 with 11 homers in 62 games.
