Twins promote Kaelen Culpepper for MLB debut

Color us shocked. The 31-year-old has been designated for assignment and re-signed a few times now, and the dance will likely continue through the end of the season.

Falter threw 3 1/3 shutout innings for the Braves, allowing just two hits and striking out two batters. We anticipate that this is simply a move to bring a fresh arm up into their bullpen, and Falter could quickly be re-signed to a minor league contract.

Murphy has been recalled to fill a role out of the bullpen. The 22-year-old has a 1.29 ERA over his last five starts at Triple-A, but he is off the fantasy radar as a reliever.

Garcia played most of the game at third base, and obviously, the stolen base is a good sign for the health of his hamstring. There is no indication yet of when Garcia might return to the Royals’ lineup, but it seems possible that it could be this week.

Arias is now hitting .333/.392/.510 with five home runs, 32 RBI, and three steals in 37 games at Triple-A. Trevor Story has gone 18-for-53 (.340) since coming off the injured list and Romy Gonzalez is also hitting the ball really well since being sent to Triple-A, so there is less of a path for Arias to get at-bats this season in Boston.

Rojas came over from the Cubs at the trade deadline for Clay Holmes and Tyrone Taylor. The 21-year-old was tremendous for Double-A Binghamton, slashing .280/.336/.593 with nine home runs, 29 RBI, and three steals in 29 games. In his time with the Mets, he has started 10 games at third base, eight games at shortstop, and six games at second base, so the Mets are going continue to move him around to see where his easiest path is to big league at-bats.

Susana has been making his way back from last September’s lat surgery and has pitched just 17 2/3 innings this year. He has a 5.09 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in those innings, but he also has a 43.6 percent strikeout-to-walk ratio and struck out 21 batters in 11 1/3 innings at Double-A. The 22-year-old may not officially be a reliever long-term, but he will continue to work out of the bullpen in Triple-A while the team gets him consistent innings to end the season.

First, they’ll have a conversation. Webb gave up six runs to the Padres in Sunday night’s loss to fall to 8-9 with a 4.31 ERA. He’s currently slated to face the Dodgers on Saturday.

Tatis’s singles were hit 105, 111 and 103 mph. The steal was his 35th in 48 tries. He’s already exceeded his previous career high of 32 from last year. He is hitting .395 with four homers and four steals in 11 games this month.

Pivetta struck out five and got up to 69 pitches in his second start back from the 60-day IL. It looked like he might have been dealing with a leg issue at the end of the outing, but he grinded it out. Assuming that he’s OK, maybe he’ll have a chance to complete five innings in a home start against the Marlins next weekend.
