Perdomo got the Diamondbacks off on the right foot in this one with a well-struck single off Chris Sale to start the game and came around to score soon thereafter. That lone run stood tall until Arizona tacked on insurance all the way in the top of the ninth. Between then, Perdomo socked three more hits. He’s come back down to earth following a sensational 2025, but has still been productive with nine home runs, 17 stolen bases, and a .252 batting average.

There was some optimism that Perdomo would be able to give it a go after making an early exit from Monday’s series opener with left knee soreness. The 26-year-old receives some additional time off to rest and recover with veteran Ildemaro Vargas taking over at shortstop with recently acquired Lars Nootbaar moving up to the leadoff spot in his absence. Perdomo appears likely to avoid the injured list and remains day-to-day for now.

It sounds like a precautionary exit, but he’s likely headed for further evaluation to determine the severity of the issue. There should be additional clarity on his status leading into Tuesday’s contest.

Perdomo’s home run was his ninth of the year. He hit a solo shot off Guardians reliever Hunter Gaddis in the seventh inning. Perdomo has six hits in his last two games. He’s hitting .238 with a .721 OPS and 41 RBI this year.

It sounds like fantasy managers don’t have anything to worry about here. He’s considered day-to-day.

Perdomo’s solo homer left the bat at 97.8 mph but was sent 377 feet to right, giving the Diamondbacks a 7-0 lead in the sixth. Perdomo has five hits the last two days, bringing his OPS back over .700 to .723. He has 32 RBI and 40 runs scored through 88 games. In his first 88 games last year, he had 59 RBI and 48 runs scored.

Perdomo was responsible for the Diamondbacks’ only run on the night. Perdomo is having his best month of the season, slashing .269/.394/.359 with two homers and three steals.
