Christian Scott picked up the win on Sunday against the Nationals, throwing 6 1/3 innings of three-run ball while striking out seven.
Scott allowed five hits and walked two. He was impressive against the highest-scoring lineup in MLB, though Washington was still without James Wood. A solo homer off the bat of Abimelec Ortiz was the only extra-base hit he allowed. This was the first time he’d pitched into the seventh inning since returning from Tommy John surgery this season. Scott will carry a 3.51 ERA into a road matchup against the White Sox next time out.
