Sean Newcomb worked 2 1/3 scoreless frames and picked up a save against the Tigers on Sunday.
Newcomb now has four saves on the season, and they have all been multi-inning stops for the 33-year-old. He struck out a pair, and while he did issue one walk and threw just 18-of-33 pitches for strikes, he was once again effective and has become a key cog in the White Sox bullpen. If Chicago can hang on and secure a playoff spot, expect the White Sox to turn to Newcomb quite a bit.
