Jansen, on a rehab assignment from a forearm strain, is 5-for-15 in five games for Round Rock. He caught back-to-back games the last two days, so it seems quite possible he’ll be activated Tuesday.

The procedural move opens up a spot on Texas’ 40-man roster after backstop Logan O’Hoppe was acquired in a trade with the Angels. Jansen has been out with a right forearm strain since early June. It’s unclear how much additional time he’s going to miss.

Rangers placed C Danny Jansen on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 3, with a strained right forearm.

Jansen will be eligible to return next Saturday, though it’s unclear if that’s realistic. He’s hit .171/.277/.309 while splitting time with Kyle Higashioka this season. Higashioka will play regularly, with veteran Elias Díaz backing up, in Jansen’s absence.

Danny Jansen went 1-for-4 and swatted his second home run of the season on Friday, helping to power the Rangers to victory over the Tigers.

Jansen opened the third inning with a 377-foot (102.7 mph EV) solo shot off of Jack Flaherty that pushed the Rangers’ lead to 2-0 and ignited a three-run rally. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the night. For the season, the 31-year-old backstop is slashing an underwhelming .211/.282/.380 with a pair of homers and eight RBI.

Danny Jansen went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer in the Rangers’ 8-5 defeat of the Orioles on Tuesday.

It’s his first three-hit game since last July 5. Jansen started the Rangers’ first two games, sat in favor of Kyle Higashioka in the next two and then was back in there tonight. The Rangers made it sound like the plan was for Jansen to get a bit more playing time than Higashioka behind the plate, but neither seems like an option outside of two-catcher AL-only leagues.

Danny Jansen drove in all three Rangers runs with two doubles in Monday’s 3-2 win over the White Sox.

Jansen is up to seven RBI with his homer and four doubles in 27 at-bats this spring. He and Kyle Higashioka project to divvy up playing time pretty equally behind the dish in Texas, but that could always change if one of the two exceeds expectations.

Rangers signed C Danny Jansen to a two-year, $14.5 million contract with a mutual option for 2028.

The deal is now official. Jansen takes over as the Rangers primary backstop after the club decided to move on from Jonah Heim earlier this offseason. The 30-year-old backstop hit just .215/.321/.399 with 14 round-trippers across 337 plate appearances between the Brewers and Rays this past season. He’s no longer a relevant fantasy option at this stage of his career but it’s a decent landing spot if he’s going to put together a bounce-back campaign.

Robert Murray of Fansided reports that the Rangers have agreed to a two-year $14.5 million contract with free agent catcher Danny Jansen.

The deal includes incentives that could take it as high as $15.5 million. The 30-year-old backstop slashed an underwhelming .215/.321/.399 with 14 homers and 36 RBI in 337 plate appearances between the Rays and Brewers in 2025. When he takes the field on Opening Day, he’ll be playing for his fifth different ballclub since the start of the 2024 campaign.

Brewers exercised their $8 million club option on RHP Freddy Peralta for 2026.

The Brewers also declined their half of Danny Jansen’s mutual option for 2026 making him a free agent. No surprises here. Peralta has been the subject of trade rumors since Milwaukee was bounced from the playoffs in the NLCS by the eventual World Series champion Dodgers. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Woodruff return on a new deal, but he should have plenty of interest on the open market.

Maikel Garcia left Kansas City’s game against the Athletics on Thursday with a left hamstring injury.

He pulled up rounding third base and gingerly walked off the field with the trainer and manager Matt Quatraro, grabbing at his hamstring. Garcia has been no stranger to the injured list this year and it looks like this might lead to another placement there. The Royals should have an update on his status in the near future.

Rodríguez was traded from the Guardians to the Orioles this offseason, DFAed by the Orioles and dealt to the Pirates for cash, and now DFAed by the Pirates and claimed by the Athletics. The 26-year-old has a .287/.381/.415 Triple-A line between Norfolk and Indianapolis. He’ll get to boost that in the comfy confines of Las Vegas.

He can refuse the assignment and become a free agent if he’d prefer. The 34-year-old had just signed with the Reds in early August after pitching with the Atlantic League’s High Point Rockers. Emanuel had a 2.30 ERA and 1.00 WHIP along with 53 strikeouts in 47 innings in the independent league.

Wilson has missed five of the last six games while dealing with a shoulder injury that will likely require offseason surgery. With the A’s going nowhere, this move makes plenty of sense — might as well get the rehab started early. Wilson hit .266/.298/.388 in 80 games this year while dealing with the injury.
