Mets president David Stearns told reporters interim manager Andy Green will return to a front office role next season.
Stearns made it clear that the club will begin the search for a new manager at the conclusion of the regular season. Green, who previously managed the Padres from 2016-2019, took over as New York’s temporary skipper after Carlos Mendoza was fired in late June. He joined the Mets in a front office role prior to the 2024 campaign and will likely fill a similar role in their player development engine moving forward.
