Cooper Pratt (hamstring) to begin rehab assignment

Basallo started the day on the bench before playing the hero in the eighth inning for the Orioles. Pinch-hitting for Coby Mayo to face Kevin Kelly, he launched a two-run homer to put the Orioles on the board and tie the game. The home run was his 17th of the season while hitting .239/.303/.451 with 35 runs scored and 48 RBI across 323 plate appearances.

Beavers didn’t enter the game until the 10th inning, starting on the bench as the Orioles faced Shane McClanahan. With the game tied in the bottom of the 10th, Beavers delivered a double off the wall, just missing a walk-off homer off Bryan Baker. The 25-year-old outfielder is hitting .244/.321/.387 with six homers, 28 RBI, and five steals across 244 plate appearances in a strong-side platoon in left field.

Hicks put the Rays on the board with a leadoff homer in the second inning off Brandon Young. After a lineout in the fourth, he was lifted for a pinch-hitter in the sixth with a left-handed reliever on the mound. The 27-year-old backstop has enjoyed a breakout campaign, hitting .283/.371/.446 with 17 homers, 62 runs scored, and 72 RBI across 465 plate appearances.

Young stranded two runners in the first inning, then served up a solo homer to Liam Hicks in the second. He settled in to keep the Rays off the board until the sixth, when a walk and two hits scored one run and left two runners on as Young departed with two outs at 84 pitches. He struck out three. The 28-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 3.50 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and a 99/45 K/BB ratio across 123 1/3 innings. He’ll take on the Athletics in Sacramento on Friday.

McClanahan was lights out on Saturday, holding the Orioles scoreless over five innings of work. He scattered four hits and one walk, tossing 47 of 74 pitches for strikes to collect five strikeouts. The 29-year-old right-hander will take a 3.10 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and a 99/36 K/BB ratio across 107 1/3 innings into a start against the Padres in Tampa Bay on Friday.

Wacha gave up three hits, walked one and struck out six. He improved to 7-8 with the win. Outside of the home run he allowed to Hao-Yu Lee in the fifth inning, Wacha tamed a Tigers lineup that has been in free fall since Riley Greene (hamstring) hit the injured list. Wacha lowered his ERA to 3.49. He’s lined up to face the Guardians on the road next weekend.

Wetherholt’s home run was his 17th of the season. He hit a solo shot off Phillies reliever Jose Alvarado in the eighth inning. Wetherholt’s home run was his sixth against left-handed pitching this year. He’s hitting .243 with a .723 OPS and 47 RBI.

Schwarber’s home run was his 38th of the season. He hit a solo shot off Cardinals catcher Pedro Pages in the eighth inning with the Phillies already leading 11-3. Schwarber leads the league in home runs. He’s hitting .245 with an .892 OPS and 76 RBI.

Harper’s home run was his 26th of the year. He hit a three-run shot off Cardinals reliever Ryan Fernandez in the sixth inning. Harper’s home run was his first since August 8 against the Blue Jays, a span of 11 games. He’s hitting .257 with an .870 OPS and 75 RBI this season.
