Neither his pitch-modeling results nor his ERA estimators suggest better days are ahead. He’s set for a rematch with the Marlins in his next appearance.

That’s something he’ll need to clean up as the Cubs were able to get him out of the game after throwing 78 pitches in four innings. The six strikeouts show Kent could have some promise, though he’s still too risky a proposition for fantasy managers at this point. Kent is lined up to face the Rangers on the road next week.

According to multiple reports, Miles Mikolas was saying goodbye to teammates in the clubhouse following Tuesday’s game, which means that he’ll be the corresponding move. Kent has recorded an encouraging 3.72 ERA and 105/30 K/BB ratio across 94 1/3 innings in the upper minors this season. He’ll face a tough test in his major-league debut, which makes it challenging to endorse him as a streaming option for fantasy purposes.
