The 27-year-old McDermott was pitching out of the bullpen for the Dodgers, posting a 4.10 ERA in 26 1/3 innings in Triple-A, but he had once been a highly regarded starting pitching prospect in the Orioles system, so it remains to be seen what the Mets’ plan for him is.

Dalton Rushing is dealing with minor arm irritation, whatever that means, and Eliezer Alfonzo struggled behind the dish on Sunday Night Baseball, so the Dodgers are bringing back an old friend. Rortvedt has not appeared in the big leagues this season and is hitting .234/.319/.414 in 167 plate appearances in Triple-A. McDermott was a former intriguing starting pitching prospect for the Orioles who the Dodgers designated for assignment on July 31st.

McDermott will report to Triple-A per Jack Harris. The former top prospect allowed 15 runs in 8 2/3 innings in 2025 and was lost in a roster crunch. Perez, 20, had a 5.48 ERA in the Dominican Summer League last year over 23 innings where he struck out 32 batters.

Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts told reporters on Sunday that he thinks Andy Pages underwent a minor surgical procedure to repair a left hand fracture.

There’s still no clear timeline for his potential return to action, but it’s encouraging to hear that the procedure was minor. As long as the Dodgers have him back in time for the postseason, they’re not going to rush his rehab.
