Erick Fedde tossed 4 2/3 scoreless innings in relief with five strikeouts in a no-decision against the Cubs on Tuesday.

Fedde took the mound in the second inning after Bryan Hudson surrendered a pair of solo homers as he opened the first inning. Fedde went on to pitch into the sixth as he held the Cubs without a run while striking out five batters. He’d depart with two outs in the sixth at 78 pitches. The 33-year-old right-hander ends his day with a 4.33 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and an 82/42 K/BB ratio across 114 1/3 innings. His next outing is scheduled to come Sunday at home against the Mets.

The White Sox will likely use Erick Fedde and José Urquidy as bulk guys on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.

With Davis Martin on the IL and Noah Schultz back in the minors, the White Sox currently have just three true rotation pitchers in Sean Burke, Luis Castillo and Anthony Kay. After Castillo starts Monday, they’ll rely heavily on the pen in the final two games of their series against the Cubs. With Thursday off, they could then perhaps split up their bulk-guy days next time through the rotation.

White Sox’ manager Will Venable confirmed Sunday that Erick Fedde will be moved to the team’s bullpen following Saturday’s addition of Luis Castillo.

Fedde pitched well in a victory over the Rays his last time out, allowing just one run over five innings while punching out six batters. He’ll now shift to a long relief role as the White Sox try to make a push towards their first postseason berth since 2021.

Erick Fedde allowed one earned run over five innings while striking out six to pick up the win on Friday over the Rays.

Fedde had one of his best starts of the season in this one. His six strikeouts tied a season high, and the lone earned run he allowed came on a solo homer to Junior Caminero in the fourth inning. Fedde was in command of the strike zone and didn’t walk a batter, and he ends July with a 3-0 record while posting just three walks over 17 2/3 innings. He’ll look to carry his strong month into August, and is next scheduled to toe the rubber on Thursday against the Red Sox.

Erick Fedde allowed three runs in 4 1/3 innings and got a no-decision in the White Sox’ 3-2 victory over the Astros on Sunday.

Fedde gave up five hits, walked one and struck out two. He had trouble keeping the ball in the ballpark as three of the five hits Fedde allowed were home runs. The 33-year-old right-hander has a 4.25 ERA, but doesn’t have much fantasy value outside of AL-Only leagues. He’s lined up to face the Rays on the road next weekend.

Erick Fedde threw four innings and allowed two runs Monday in his start against the Rangers.

If the White Sox had used an opener tonight, as they had in six of Fedde’s previous seven outings, this probably would have been a fourth straight win for the right-hander. As is, the victory went to Chris Murphy for getting four outs in the fifth and sixth. Fedde struck out six and walked none. He’s due to make his next appearance Sunday against the Astros.

The White Sox will return from the break with their top three starters going. This will also set up Erick Fedde for a two-start week against Texas and Houston the following week.

Erick Fedde picked up a win after working four scoreless innings Saturday against the A’s.

Feddy came in for the third after Bryan Hudson and Chris Murphy pitched scoreless first and second innings, respectively, and allowed one hit with three strikeouts through the sixth. He started the seventh by giving up a double to Joshua Kuroda-Grauer, leading to his exit, but Sean Newcomb came in and stranded the runner. It’s Fedde’s fifth win, all of which have come since the beginning of June. He has a 4.15 ERA in nine starts and 10 appearances as a bulk guy.

Erick Fedde yielded three runs in five innings Tuesday in a victory over the Orioles.

Fedde won for the second time in nine starts and third time overall in 17 appearances for the White Sox this season. He’s been adequate in posting a 4.41 ERA in spite of a 53/33 K/BB through 79 2/3 innings. The White Sox might be able to do better at some point, but they’ll stick with him for now and have him face the Guardians, perhaps behind a left-handed opener, on Sunday.

After entering in the second inning, Erick Fedde allowed two runs — one earned — over four innings Wednesday against the Guardians.

It’s the fourth straight outing and eighth time this year that Fedde has pitched behind an opener. He still has just two wins, one of which came in a conventional start, but he’s been effective of late, amassing a 1.69 ERA in 21 1/3 innings over five appearances this month. He’ll face the Orioles next.

Erick Fedde pitched decently in a losing effort against the Tigers on Friday night, allowing two runs on four hits over his 4 2/3 innings of work.

Fedde struck out four batters on the night while allowing one base on balls. The 33-year-old hurler took over with a 2-1 deficit in the second inning after Brandon Eisert got the first four outs as an opener. He then kept the Tigers off the board until a two-out, two-run double by Kerry Carpenter in the sixth inning. Fedde got 10 whiffs on 78 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 26 percent. He’ll carry a 4.46 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and a 48/27 K/BB ratio (70 2/3 innings) into Wednesday’s matchup against the Guardians.

Wilkinson will get the nod for his MLB debut. The man they call “Tugboat” has a 5.15 ERA and 43/17 ERA in his 43 2/3 innings for Triple-A Sacramento. Wilkson has a chance to be a decent option in the coming years, but it’d be risky to trust him as a streamer Wednesday.

It was his first rehab game since being placed on the injured list nearly a month ago with an adductor strain. The outfielder didn’t have any success, but the important thing for the 32-year-old was that he was able to get back on the field. He should e an option for the D-backs before the end of the month, if there are no setbacks, of course.

Rutschman had a two-run single in the first and then hit a 401-foot homer off Merrill Kelly in the third. It was his first homer in seven games for Boston after 69 in 3 1/2 seasons with the Orioles.

Merrill Kelly was tagged for six runs in four innings Tuesday in a loss to the Red Sox.

Kelly surrendered seven hits with just four hard-hit balls allowed, which seems like awful luck. Still, when your strikeout rate is just 15 percent, you’re going to have bad luck sometimes. Kelly is 8-11 with a 5.37 ERA, and things don’t figure to get any easier against the Cubs next week.

Gabriel Moreno hit a grand slam to account for all of Arizona’s runs in Tuesday’s loss to the Red Sox.

This might not be the Diamondbacks’ year, but at least Moreno is fulfilling his potential in becoming of the game’s best catchers. The 26-year-old is batting .308/.385/.470 with 10 homers and 60 RBI through 98 games. Not to say they’re exactly equivalent offensive threats, but the only player in MLB with a higher average and more homers than Moreno is Yordan Alvarez.
