Graham Ashcraft, out since the end of May with a sprained UCL, is beginning a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville.

Ashcraft opted for rest and rehab over surgery, so now it’s time to put his arm to the test. He had a 3.33 ERA in 26 appearances in a setup role before getting hurt.

Mets selected the contract of RHP Chris Devenski from Triple-A Syracuse.

The former Astros All-Star spent most of the year with Pittsburgh’s minor leagues before being outrighted. He signed with the Mets on August 12. Devenski has a 1.13 ERA in 24 minor-league innings this year and the 35-year-old will be in the low leverage mix for the Mets.

Mets optioned RHP Xzavion Curry to Triple-A Syracuse.

He threw 46 pitches in helping to end last night’s game against the Brewers. Curry will be brought back up when circumstances dictate the Mets need a fresh arm.

Chase DeLauter (hamstring) is in Cleveland’s starting lineup for Friday’s game against the Royals.

He’d missed three consecutive games this week and three consecutive games last weeks while dealing with the issue. DeLauter will be tough to trust in weekly leagues next week unless he plays often this weekend or we get encouraging quotes, but managers in daily transaction leagues should fire him up.

Pirates recalled LHP Evan Sisk from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Sisk had a 2.66 ERA in 40 2/3 innings in the bigs before being demoted — he’d allowed runs in his last three outings in the bigs — and figures to go back into the middle relief mix.

Pirates optioned RHP Noah Murdock to Triple-A Indianapolis.

He faced one batter in three days on the roster and induced a flyout. Murdock will continue to be used as an up-and-down arm by the Pirates.

Reds recalled INF Edwin Arroyo from Triple-A Louisville.

He’s not in today’s lineup — Matt McLain is at second base — but he could get major at-bats down the stretch as the Reds see what they have in the 23-year-old. He starts off the fantasy radar after a .244/.286/.282 start with one stolen base and zero homers in 142 plate appearances.

Reds placed 3B Ke’Bryan Hayes on the 10-day injured list retroactive to August 27 with a left groin strain.

No indication yet on how long Hayes will be out, but we doubt they’ll be rushing him back since he’s hitting .153 in 78 games this year. The Reds would probably be better off seeing what Edwin Arroyo can do in September.

The Hillsborough County Commision voted 5-2 to approve a new Rays stadium deal.

Assuming the original framework of the deal is not held up in any way, the Rays project to open the 2029 season in a new ballpark. “This has been a long and challenging process,” wrote managing partner and co-chair Patrick Zalupski in a statement, “and we know that transformational projects rarely come easily. Today’s vote represents an extraordinary milestone—not simply for the Rays or for a ballpark, but for the future of Tampa and the entire Tampa Bay region.” The days of the Tropicana catwalks appear to be numbered.

White Sox recalled LHP Tyler Gilbert from Triple-A Charlotte.

He’ll be part of the low leverage mix for the next few days while Tyler Schweitzer is on the paternity list. Gilbert hasn’t pitched in the bigs since early June and holds a 4.64 ERA in 20 games for the Knights this year, walking 10 and striking out 31 in 33 innings.
