Wow! A home run! He only had one in the entire second half before this and funny enough, it shouldn’t even have happened. Angel Genao made a crucial throwing error with two outs in the second inning which set the stage for Guerrero’s three-run shot. He also plated a run in the first inning with a double and had another run-scoring hit in the sixth as the Blue Jays built their massive lead in this blowout victory. It’s better late than never for Guerrero to find one of his patented hot streaks before the season ends.

Blue Jays activated 1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. from the concussion injured list.

Guerrero returns to Toronto’s lineup for Saturday’s early-afternoon matinee against the Yankees following a one-week absence due to a concussion. The positive news is that he cleared final concussion protocol after reaching base safely in all three plate appearances during a minor league rehab game for Low-A Dunedin earlier this week. He’s gone more than a calendar year without homering in the Rogers Centre and holds a calamitous .693 OPS with seven homers in 115 games heading into the final five weeks of the season.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (concussion) has rejoined the Blue Jays on Friday and is expected to be activated from the injured list prior to Saturday’s game.

Jays’ skipper John Schneider told reporters that the 27-year-old slugger has passed all of his concussion tests and has been cleared to return after going 1-for-1 with a double and a pair of walks in a minor league rehab game at High-A Dunedin on Thursday. Fantasy managers can anticipate having him back in lineups on Saturday.

Guerrero is on track to return from the concussion injured list for Saturday’s showdown against the Yankees. The 27-year-old first baseman figures to play a pair of minor league rehab games on Thursday and Friday before the Blue Jays decide to bring him back. It’s an extremely encouraging sign that he’s progressed to full baseball activities just a couple days after landing on the injured list.

Guerrero progressed to high-intensity running during a light workout after hitting the injured list with a concussion over the weekend. The fact that he’s been cleared to start ramping up activity seems to indicate that he’ll be ready to return at some point later this week or early next week. At the bare minimum, it’s a positive update.

Blue Jays placed 1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. on the seven-day concussion injured list.

Tests prior to Saturday’s game must not have gone very well. Guerrero was hurt on a play at third base Friday night against the Yankees. Rather than give Sean Keys another look, the Jays summoned Daz Cameron to replace Guerrero. Charles McAdoo is playing first base today, and Kazuma Okamoto will probably slide over there on occasion.

Guerrero Jr. is currently gong through the concussion protocol, and it’s worth noting that Daz Cameron reportedly has a locker. For now, the 27-year-old is just out of Saturday’s lineup, but fantasy managers should be prepared for a potential stint on the seven-day IL. In the meantime, Charles McAdoo will hit ninth and handle first base duties.

Guerrero was involved in an awkward collision with George Lombard Jr. at third base during the sixth inning on Friday and came away with a bit of a headache, so the team opted to err on the side of caution. Whether or not he’ll be available for the rest of the weekend will depend on how quickly he can pass through the protocol.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was removed from Friday night’s battle against the Yankees after being involved in an awkward collision at third base.

Guerrero collided with the third baseman as the throw was coming across the diamond in the sixth inning. The throw got away and Guerrero was able to score, but he appeared to injure himself during the collision. The Jays should have an update on his status shortly.

Guerrero returned to the lineup and put the Blue Jays on the board right away, taking Aaron Nola deep for a solo homer in the first inning. It was his first home run since July 11 and just his seventh of the season. The 27-year-old first baseman is hitting .262/.341/.358 with 58 runs scored, 46 RBI, and seven steals across 461 plate appearances.

Donovan Walton went 3-for-5 and hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the 10th to give the A’s a 6-5 win over the Mariners on Friday.

Walton’s walkoff homer off Eduard Bazardo was his seventh in 226 plate appearances this season. He had four in 214 career plate appearances coming into the year. The A’s figure to keep starting him against righties the rest of the way. They’ll then have a difficult decision about whether to retain the 32-year-old journeyman as a part of their plans for 2027.

Springs has a 2.29 ERA in three starts against the Mariners this year and a 6.48 ERA in 24 starts versus everyone else. He is lined up to make his next start Thursday against the Rays.

It would have been interesting to see what the Mariners would have gotten for Kirby at the deadline. Probably more than if they try to move him this winter. The game’s most underachieving starter has given up 12 earned runs in his last three starts and has flopped while facing a decimated A’s offense in back-to-back outings. He seems like a bad play in a road start against the Angels next week.

Bazardo didn’t even get an out before giving up Donovan Walton’s walkoff homer. He only had the 10th with a one-run lead tonight because Andrés Muñoz was unavailable after working the previous two days. Bazardo, who was outstanding last season and for the first three months of this year, has given up three homers and nine runs over 1 2/3 innings in his last four appearances. His ERA has jumped from 2.10 on July 10 to 2.97 on Aug. 29 and 4.04 now.

It says a lot about how bad McNeil was in the first half that he’s hitting .339/.368/.491 in the second half and still has a sub-.700 OPS overall, but the surge should earn him another starting job in 2027. He’ll be a weak play in mixed leagues next week with six games on the road, but he should be a nice option in mixed leagues for the final week of the season with the A’s at home.

The 23-year-old slugger smacked an RBI single in the third inning that gave the Cardinals a 3-2 lead that they would never surrender. He then delivered an RBI double in the fifth inning and scored on an RBI double off the bat of Leo Bernal. He also doubled in the seventh inning and was once again driven in by Bernal. With his three-hit attack, Báez is now slashing .261/.313/.580 to go with seven home runs, 18 RBI and two stolen bases in his first 96 plate appearances.
