Martín Pérez

ATL Starting Pitcher #33

Player Stats

Martín Pérez allowed four runs with three strikeouts over 3 2/3 innings in a loss against the Phillies on Saturday.

Pérez labored through a 35-pitch first inning, allowing two runs on four walks and one hit. He gave up a third run on a triple and a groundout in the second inning. Kyle Schwarber then took him deep for a solo homer in the fourth. Pérez recorded one more out and allowed back-to-back hits, ending his day with two outs in the inning at 84 pitches. The 35-year-old left-hander will take a 3.25 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and a 94/54 K/BB ratio across 124 2/3 innings into a rematch against the Phillies in Atlanta on Friday.

Bryce Elder and Martín Pérez won’t be a part of the NLDS roster against the Dodgers, Braves manager Walt Weiss said.

Lane Thomas, who finished up on the IL with an intercostal strain, is a possibility to be activated. The pitchers, though, will have to wait for a potential NLCS. Elder is coming off knee surgery and hoped to be ready for the series. Pérez missed the end of the season with a back strain.
Martín Pérez

ATL Starting Pitcher #33

Braves placed LHP Martín Pérez on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to September 21, with lower back inflammation.

That means that the 35-year-old southpaw won’t be eligible to return until Game 3 of the NLDS at the earliest. Braves’ skipper Walt Weiss told reporters that realistically, he probably won’t be an option until the NLCS should the Braves advance there.
Martín Pérez

ATL Starting Pitcher #33

Martín Pérez allowed one run in 4 1/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Braves’ 4-2 victory over the Astros on Sunday.

Pérez gave up six hits, walked two and struck out two. He had allowed two runs in 13 innings over his last two starts, but wasn’t quite as sharp against the Astros on Sunday. Pérez only allowed one run, but failed to complete five innings. He has a 3.04 ERA this year. Pérez is lined up to face the Marlins on the road next Saturday.
Chris Sale

ATL Starting Pitcher #51

Chris Sale’s next start has been pushed back to Wednesday against the Reds.

It’s a tough break for fantasy managers in the middle of playoff matchups. However, all indications are that Sale, who was originally scheduled to start on Friday, is healthy and not dealing with any physical issues. The decision appears to be aimed towards setting up Atlanta’s rotation for the postseason schedule. It’ll be Tyler Mahle, Grant Holmes and Martín Pérez getting the ball against the Astros this weekend.
Martín Pérez

ATL Starting Pitcher #33

Martín Pérez yielded three runs — two earned — in six innings for his 100th career victory Tuesday against the Cubs.

Pérez has only started one postseason game in his long career, giving up four runs over five innings for the Rangers in a loss to the Blue Jays in the 2015 ALDS. He might get another chance this October, though. First, he’s due at least one more regular-season start next week versus the Reds. He’s currently 9-9 with a 3.07 ERA.
Martín Pérez

ATL Starting Pitcher #33

Martín Pérez threw seven scoreless innings against the Rays on Thursday afternoon, allowing four hits while striking out four.

Unfortunately for those streaming him, Nick Martinez matched Pérez scoreless inning for scoreless inning, leaving him with a no-decision. The Braves eventually scored in the eighth after the left-hander left. Pérez has a 2.62 ERA despite a 1.46 WHIP over his last seven starts spanning 34 1/3 innings. He’ll likely pitch in Wrigley next week in what looks to be a reasonable stream despite a good offense on the other side.
Martín Pérez

ATL Starting Pitcher #33

Martín Pérez pitched well in a no-decision against the Rockies on Saturday afternoon, allowing just one run on five hits across 5 2/3 innings.

The 35-year-old southpaw racked up six strikeouts on the night while issuing two free passes. He was locked in a scoreless battle until the sixth inning where Willi Castro delivered a two-out, RBI single that gave the Rockies the lead. Pérez got 14 swings and misses on 83 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 30 percent. He now boasts a solid 3.05 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and a 91/50 K/BB ratio over 121 innings in 26 appearances (22 starts) on the season. He’ll do battle against the Phillies his next time out in Philadelphia on Saturday.
Martín Pérez

ATL Starting Pitcher #33

Martín Pérez gave up four runs — one earned — over four innings Saturday in a loss to the Brewers.

Pérez’s own error led to the three unearned runs in the third inning. It’s the second straight outing in which Pérez has allowed four runs after three straight scoreless starts to begin the month, and he’s now 8-8 with a 3.12 ERA. He’s due to pitch at home against the Rockies next weekend, making him a nice streaming option.
Martín Pérez

ATL Starting Pitcher #33

Martín Pérez allowed four runs in five innings and took the loss against the Twins on Monday.

Pérez gave up nine hits, walked two and struck out three. He fell to 8-7 with the loss. This was a nightmare for Pérez. He allowed the first six batters in the first inning to reach and by that point it was 4-0 Twins before he settled in to get through five innings without further damage. He has a 3.15 ERA. Pérez is lined up to face the Brewers on the road this weekend.
Martín Pérez

ATL Starting Pitcher #33

Martín Pérez hurled six scoreless frames to pick up a win in a 4-0 victory for Atlanta on Tuesday.

Pérez scattered four hits, and he walked three with two strikeouts. Far from dominant, but still effective. Again. The 35-year-old hasn’t allowed a run in his last three outings, and his ERA is now an outstanding 2.96 on the season. He’ll have a chance to keep this good run going against the Twins next week.

Rangers declined RHP Jakob Junis’ $5 million mutual option for 2027.

This one comes as a mild surprise, as they’ll have to pay him a $1.25 million buyout anyways and Junis did a nice job out of the Rangers’ bullpen in 2026 — registering a 3.64 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and a 38/18 K/BB ratio over 54 1/3 innings while notching six saves. Perhaps they had already been informed that Junis planned to decline his side of the option. Either way, it shouldn’t be hard for the 34-year-old right-hander to find a new gig on the open market.

Rangers declined C Kyle Higashioka’s $7 million option for 2027.

The 36-year-old backstop will receive a $1 million buyout on his way to the free agent market. Higashioka provided a major offensive boost once he took over the backup catcher role for the Rangers in 2025, but he wasn’t able to recapture that magic in 2026 — slashing an anemic .218/.306/.370 with seven homers and 18 RBI in 186 plate appearances. He’ll likely have to settle for a minor league deal with an invitation to big league camp.

Diamondbacks RHP Michael Soroka declined his $10 million mutual option for 2027.

This one seemed like a no-brainer given Soroka’s success in 2026. He’ll receive a $1 million buyout and will hit free agency where he should be able to land a highly lucrative multi-year deal. The 29-year-old hurler made 21 starts for the Diamondbacks in 2026, posting a strong 3.41 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and a 114/29 K/BB ratio across 116 innings. He’ll have no shortage of teams vying for his services on the open market.

Angels selected the contract of LHP Nicolò Pinazzi from Triple-A Salt Lake.

The 27-year-old southpaw is now safe from being plucked in the Rule 5 draft. Pinazzi had a breakout 2026 season where he registered a scintillating 0.84 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and a 103/33 K/BB ratio over 64 innings across four minor league levels. He should get an opportunity to pitch out of the Angels’ bullpen at some point in 2027.

Giants sent C Andrew Knizner outright to Triple-A Sacramento.

The expectation is that the 31-year-old backstop will refuse the assignment and elect free agency, though that hasn’t happened yet. Knizner appeared in 29 games for the Giants in 2026, slashing .219/.288/.356 with a pair of home runs and four RBI in 80 plate appearances. He’ll have no problem latching on somewhere as extra catching depth if he decides to hit the open market.

Guardians declined RHP Shawn Armstrong’s $8 million mutual option for 2027.

Armstrong will receive a buyout of $1.5 million and will hit the free agent market. The 36-year-old made 41 appearances out of the Guardians’ bullpen in 2026, compiling a 4.58 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and a 34/19 K/BB ratio over 35 1/3 innings. Given the impressive work that he did for the Rays in 2023 and the Rangers in 2025 though, Armstrong shouldn’t have any problem landing a major league deal this winter.

Guardians declined RHP Trevor Stephan’s $7.25 million club option for 2027.

The 30-year-old hurler will instead receive a $1.25 million buyout and will hit the free agent market. Stephen hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since the 2023 season. He missed the entire 2024 campaign while recovering from Tommy John surgery. He made 22 ghastly appearances at Triple-A Columbus in 2026, posting an 11.12 ERA, 2.07 WHIP and a 23/18 K/BB ratio over 22 2/3 innings. He’ll make for an interesting low-risk flier on what will probably be a minor league contract for someone this offseason.

The move protects the versatile 24-year-old from the upcoming Rule 5 draft. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him debut with the Guardians at some point in 2027.

Rays declined their $10 million mutual option on OF Cedric Mullins for 2027.

Instead, the 32-year-old outfielder will receive a $500,000 buyout and will hit the free agent market. Mullins appeared in 107 games for the American League Champions, slashing an underwhelming .207/.284/.344 with 15 homers, 48 RBI and 21 stolen bases (in 31 attempts). He only had five plate appearances in the postseason, going 2-for-5 with a homer, stolen base and three runs scored. His fantasy value in 2027 will be tied to whether or not he’s able to land a starting or strong-side platoon role someplace.
