Logan Henderson strikes out eight against Pirates

With Tyler Zuber (elbow) heading to the injured list, González will get another chance to show the Marlins what he can do over the final weekend of the 2026 season. The 24-year-old righty has logged a 4.63 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and an 18/11 K/BB ratio over 11 2/3 innings in nine appearances at Triple-A Jacksonville this season.

The issue isn’t believed to be major and as of now there are no plans for the 31-year-old hurler to go under the knife. Zuber made 44 appearances out of the Marlins’ bullpen this season, registering a 5.67 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and a 42/11 K/BB ratio across 39 2/3 innings of work.

With Camilo Doval joining the Giants’ active roster on Friday, someone needed to go to clear a spot and Perdomo wound up as the odd man out. The 24-year-old southpaw posted a 3.65 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and a 14/7 K/BB ratio over 24 2/3 innings in five appearances (four starts) for the Giants down the stretch.

Alonso hit a 407-foot homer off Brendan Beck in the third, extending a streak in which his last seven hits had been homers. He broke that up with a single in the fourth, but he went on to homer again in the seventh anyway. That one left the bat at 113 mph and was projected at 471 feet. If that holds up, it’d be tied for the second longest in his career, behind a 489-footer he hit as a rookie. Alonso is up to 43 homers, giving him two more than Yordan Alvarez and Junior Caminero for the AL lead. He’s tied Alec Burleson for first in the majors with 113 RBI, putting him 11 in front of Alvarez for the AL lead.

Rogers departed after just 55 pitches, costing him an easy win in a 7-1 game, but he had no complaints after the game. He’ll take a 10-11 record and a 4.03 ERA into free agency this winter. His final 20 starts produced a 2.90 ERA and a 119/21 K/BB in 121 innings.

It was Beavers’ first career slam and eighth homer in 108 games this year. His stock has taken a hit with his lack of success offensively and defensively this year, and he probably shouldn’t be penciled into Baltimore’s 2027 outfield at this point. He’s hitting .229/.308/.367 with two games to go.

It’s the first trip to the big leagues for the 25-year-old right-hander. Cornielle made 21 appearances across four minor league levels in 2026, registering a 3.39 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and an 89/48 K/BB ratio over 85 innings of work.

Beck was promoted prior to the first game of Friday’s doubleheader against the Orioles where he gave up seven runs on six hits over five innings of work in a losing effort. He’ll continue to function as extra pitching depth for the Yankees.

The 36-year-old hurler landed on the injured list in late August with right elbow discomfort and then diagnosed with a partially torn UCL. The expectation is that he’ll ultimately have Tommy John surgery, though that decision has not yet been made.

Edman had started in each of the Dodgers’ last five games, but he’ll get a breather in this one as we head into the final weekend of the regular season. Enrique Hernandez will draw a start at second base and will bat ninth against Giants’ right-hander Yunior Marte.
