The Rangers are promoting top prospect Sebastian Walcott to Triple-A Round Rock, according to MLB.com’s Kennedi Landry.

Walcott will finish the year on the doorstop of the majors after going 4-for-11 with one homer and four steals during a three-game playoff series for Double-A Frisco, which wrapped up on Friday night. The 20-year-old phenom missed most of the year after undergoing elbow surgery back in the spring, but he’s looked like one of the top fantasy prospects in the game since returning back in mid-July. He’s hit .322/.398/.585 with nine homers and 11 steals in 171 plate appearances at the Double-A level this year. He has a chance to arrive in the majors at some point next season.

Walcott made a massive impact during the RoughRiders’ postseason run, which came to an end on Friday night, going 4-for-11 with one homer and four steals in their three-game playoff series. The 20-year-old prodigy missed most of the year after undergoing elbow surgery back in the spring, but looked like one of the top fantasy prospects in the game after returning, hitting .329/.404/.608 with 10 homers and 12 steals in 39 games.

Rangers SS prospect Sebastian Walcott is expected to resume playing defense this week for the first time since returning from elbow surgery.

Walcott missed a couple months at the outset of the year recovering from surgery to repair a UCL tear in his throwing elbow and has been limited to DH while playing for Double-A Frisco since late July. The 20-year-old shortstop is arguably a top-five overall prospect in dynasty formats thanks to his over-the-fence power upside and bat-to-ball skills. He figures to reach the majors at some point next year.

The 20-year-old top prospect has homered three times in 13 games since making his season debut back on July 17. He boasts one of the more intriguing fantasy skillsets of any prospect in the minors given his raw power upside and likelihood that he’ll stick at shortstop long-term.

Walcott was hit in the head by an errant pickoff throw during Saturday’s game. This sounds precautionary, but it’ll likely keep Walcott out for at least a week. The 20-year-old has been sensational since returning from his internal brace surgery, and has a chance to be an impact player for Texas in 2027, with an outside chance of reaching the bigs before the end of this season.

In nine Double-A games since coming back from internal brace surgery, Walcott has gone 14-for-37 (.278) with two home runs, nine runs scored, eight RBI, two steals, and a 1.101 OPS. The 20-year-old remains one of the top prospects in baseball, and it’s nice to see him not skip a beat after coming back from major surgery.

He’s likely to finish the remainder of this season at Double-A, but he could begin next year in Triple-A with a chance at an early call-up.

He hit .255/.355/.386 with 13 homers and 32 steals in 552 plate appearances as a teenager at Double-A Frisco. He doesn’t offer massive stolen base upside, but he might have one of the highest power ceilings of any middle infield prospect in the minors.

Walcott is the big name here, and the infielder had no shot of making the Opening Day roster even before his internal brace surgery last week that will keep him out for most — if not all — of the 2026 season. He is one of the best prospects in the sport, however, and it’d be a mistake for fantasy managers to not continue to roster him in keeper formats.

Andy Pages hit a three-run homer in the 10th inning as the Dodgers beat the Giants 5-1 on Sunday.

Pages had a sac fly that accounted for the Dodgers’ only run over the first nine innings. He had a chance to break the game open with two on in the eighth, but he instead grounded into an inning-ending double play. He got another chance in the 10th after an Alex Call double gave the Dodgers the lead and essentially put the game away with his 23rd homer of the year. It was his second in six games since he returned from a fractured hand. He ends up at .274/.343/.468 with 85 RBI in 134 games.

Conine connected on his 19th homer of the season. The 29-year-old appeared in only 94 games, but he made the most of them with an .846 OPS and 43 RBI. It seems likely that Conine did enough to earn a larger role with Miami to open the 2027 season, and his power makes him someone to monitor in deeper formats.

The right-hander showed he’s still a strong option, and be it for Miami or a new club, there will be fantasy-relevance, even if he doesn’t miss bats with the best of them.

Ritchie’s final start of the season saw him allow seven hits and walks, and he struck out just two. The right-hander went 1-5 on the year with a 4.91 ERA, but there were positives moments for the 23-year-old, and assuming there aren’t drastic changes, there’s a decent chance he’ll be a rotation option for Atlanta in 2027. He’s more dynasty play than redraft next year, but the stuff is good enough that it could lead to a breakout next summer.
