Brandon Young pitched well in a losing effort against the Yankees on Friday night, surrendering just one run on two hits over five strong frames.
Young racked up six strikeouts on the evening while issuing three free passes. The lone tally against him came on an RBI double off the bat of Ryan McMahon in the fifth inning that broke a scoreless tie. Unfortunately for Young, that was enough to do him in. The 28-year-old righty got 14 whiffs on 82 offerings on the night, posting a solid CSW of 33 percent. He finishes the season at 9-6 with a respectable 3.56 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and a 133/61 K/BB ratio over 156 2/3 innings in 28 starts.
