Garcia, 25, has a 1.43 ERA in 31 1/3 innings between Double- and Triple-A. He’ll likely only be kept as a middle reliever until the Mets need a starting pitcher next week.

It’s been great to see Jensen in the Royals lineup all three games so far, including on Opening Day in a lefty-lefty matchup. He hit ninth versus the southpaw, but he’s batted fifth both games since. That’s not the greatest RBI spot, as cleanup man Salvador Perez typically either makes an out or clears the bases himself. Still, Jensen has a really good chance of being a top-12 catcher if he’s close to an everyday player.

Lugo gave up long drives to Ronald Acuña Jr. and Michael Harris II that looked like homers off the bat, but both turned into outs. Harris’s was especially ridiculous; according to MLB.com’s Mark Bowman, the drive’s combination of 108-109 mph of exit velocity and a 27-degree launch angle produced homers 70 of the 72 times it happened last year. But even if those balls had left the yard, this still would have been a solid showing for Lugo. He struck out three and walked none while throwing 55 of his 77 pitches for strikes. He’ll face the Brewers next.

Carlos Estévez was likely unavailable because of an ankle contusion, but he would have had no business pitching today anyway after giving up six runs last night. The Royals used Matt Strahm in relief of Seth Lugo to get the final two outs of the seventh. John Schneider gave up one run in the eighth to make it a 4-1 game and create the save chance for Erceg, who converted it easily. With Estévez unlikely to reemerge as a useable late-game reliever right away, Erceg is worth rostering everywhere.

Holmes gave up just two hard-hit balls, a single and a Carter Jensen homer, but he allowed three more hits on softer contact. He struck out four and walked two. This is probably what the Braves will typically get from Holmes in the rotation. It’ll be enough to keep them in games with their strong offense, but he’s not likely to be a mixed-league guy.

Fuentes did a nice job piggybacking off of Grant Holmes today, but the Braves couldn’t overcome a 3-0 deficit, scoring just one run on the day. Fuentes would up allowing two hits, walked one and striking out four. If the Braves stay on script, Fuentes will have a few more outings like this and then go start games in Triple-A.

Baldwin has been crushing the ball since the very beginning of the spring, and he definitely looks like a top-five fantasy catcher at this point. He’ll probably DH on Monday against A’s lefty Jacob López, with Jonah Heim taking over behind the plate.

The two sluggers were held out of the lineup on Saturday with a left-hander on the mound, but they’re right back in there for the third time in four games on Sunday. The M’s are set to tangle with three left-handers next week — including two in a row to start against the Yankees — so they don’t make for the best streaming options if looking to grab them off of waivers.

It’s the second straight game that Hoskins has found himself on the bench for after starting the Guardians’ first two contests. José Ramírez will function as the Guardians’ designated hitter on Sunday with Kyle Manzardo drawing another start at first base.

Raleigh is just 1-for-13 to open the season, and the Mariners, as a dome team without the requirement of that post-Opening Day day off, are in the midst of playing seven straight games without a break. A typical catcher would surely be due for a day off by this point, Raleigh, though, is not the typical catcher, so Mitch Garver is still waiting for his first start of the year.

Sandridge was designated for assignment by the Angels after he didn’t make the Opening Day roster. He’ll head to Baltimore as a potential bullpen option for the Orioles in 2026.
