Joey Cantillo limited the Cardinals to two runs over six innings but he didn’t factor into the decision for the Guardians on Tuesday.
Cantillo allowed five hits, which isn’t a bad number. Two of those hits went over the fence, which isn’t the goal. Fortunately they were both solo shots, so while he doesn’t pick up the win, it’s a literal and figurative quality start for the southpaw. He’s allowed no more than two runs in any of his starts to begin the year, and he’ll try and keep that going against Baltimore on Sunday; hopefully with some run support added in, for his sake.
