Marlins transferred RHP Jose Garcia from the 15-day to 60-day disabled list.
The Marlins have been quiet about whether Garcia is going to end up needing elbow surgery. He’s been sidelined since early March.

Sam Hentges (shoulder) will throw at least one more bullpen before facing hitters.
Hentges underwent surgery on his shoulder in the offseason, and isn’t ready for game action. The 29-year-old is a candidate to start the year on the injured list, but there’s enough time for the southpaw to get enough appearances to avoid that trip.
Target Abreu late for fantasy RP amid Hader injury
Eric Samulski and James Schiano look at the 'landmine-y' world of fantasy relief pitchers and explain why Josh Hader's injury gives Bryan Abreu a massive boost in value.
  • MIA Left Fielder #28
Kyle Stowers (hamstring) will begin a running progression soon.
Stowers was able to swing the bat 30 times Sunday, and he also played catch. The 28-year-old has a mild right hamstring strain, and is expected to miss a couple of weeks. He should be ready to roll by Opening Day, but it’s a situation to monitor.
  • TEX Infield #5
Corey Seager (illness) is hitting third and playing shortstop against the Guardians on Monday.
Seager was scratched due to an illness Friday, but the 31-year-old star shortstop is good to go for the exhibition bout versus the Guardians.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #79
Dodgers reassigned RHP Patrick Copen, LHP Luke Fox, RHP Jerming Rosario LHP Adam Serwinowski, RHP Nick Frasso, RHP Jose Rodriguez, C Nelson Quiroz, C Chuckie Robinson, IF Keston Hiura, IF Matt Gorski and OF Chris Newell to minor league camp.
Frasso was non-tendered at the end of 2025 but re-signed shortly after. He’ll provide organizational depth. Hiura was once among the most intriguing young bats in baseball, but is just roster fodder at this point.
  • CIN 1st Baseman #4
Reds reassigned 1B Michael Toglia, IF Michael Chavis, LHP Joel Valdez, C Connor Burns, RHP Carson Spiers and IF Cam Collier to minor league camp.
Toglia signed a minor league deal in January after being non-tendered by the Rockies, and stood very little of making the Opening Day roster. He’ll likely begin the season in Triple-A Louisville.
  • TEX Pitcher #82
Rangers optioned RHP Emiliano Teodo to Triple-A Round Rock and RHP Winston Santos to Double-A Frisco; reassigned RHP Nabil Crismatt, RHP Declan Cronin, OF Trevor Hauver to minor league camp.
Teodo is coming off a disappointing 2025 season where he dealt with injury and an inability to throw strikes, but he has an electric arm and could help Texas before the end of 2026. Crismatt likely has an opt-out, so he’ll have a choice to either report to Triple-A or elect free agency.
  • HOU Center Fielder #6
Jake Meyers (back) is hitting sixth and playing centerfield against the Nationals on Monday.
Meyers was scratched from Friday’s bout with back spasms, but the 29-year-old is ready to roll for the spring showdown, and should be just fine for the regular season.
  • SD Pitcher #78
The Padres have shut Bryan Hoeing down due to discomfort in his right elbow.
For the second straight season, it appears that Hoeing will open the season on the injured list. The Padres are optimistic it isn’t a serious injury, but it makes sense that they’ll take the necessary precautions. Once healthy, Hoeing should work in the middle innings for the San Diego bullpen.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher
Mets signed RHP Dan Hammer to a minor league contract.
Hammer has intrigued in the minors with his ability to miss bats with a career 10.9 K/9, but he’s also posted an abhorrent 7.5 BB/9 in that timeframe. The Mets will try and get him to throw enough strikes while still missing bats. Weirder things have happened.
  • ATH Catcher #23
Shea Langeliers had a two-run homer and a double off Andrew Abbott as the A’s crushed the Reds 12-4 on Sunday.
Langeliers has hit first, second, fifth and third in his four starts over the last week. The last two of those came with Jacob Wilson leading off, which seems to be the big question in the Athletics’ lineup at the moment. If Wilson hits lower in the order, Langeliers would probably bat second behind Nick Kurtz in the leadoff spot. If Wilson leads off, then Langeliers might bat fifth against righties, with Tyler Soderstrom occupying the cleanup spot.
