Aaron Laffey lost to the Twins after giving up four runs in five innings on Friday.
Laffey entered camp as the fallback for the fifth spot in Toronto’s rotation, and he might get the spot because of Dustin McGowan’s injury. It’s doubtful he’d have any fantasy value.

Quinn Priester (wrist) will see a specialist in Dallas on Thursday.
The Brewers and Priester still have no answers for why he is experiencing soreness in his right wrist. We know that he’s had MRIs on his wrist, shoulder, and elbow, but none of those have seemingly produced any answer, so he will seek another opinion. Having to see a specialist is usually never a great sign for a player’s health, but we’ll wait to see what comes of the visit. It’s looking like Kyle Harrison has a good shot to start the season in the Brewers’ rotation.
Ohtani, Judge shining in WBC amid peak of careers
Dan Le Batard reflects on the days of United States-Japan exhibition games before debating Shohei Ohtani vs. Aaron Judge and the World Baseball Classic's place among international competitions.
  • SEA Relief Pitcher #46
Mariners optioned RHP Domingo González to Triple-A Tacoma
González was competing for a bullpen role and allowed one run on two hits in four innings while striking out four. He also posted a 4.47 ERA in 42 innings at Triple-A last season, so the Mariners will likely give him some more time at that level.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #62
Mariners optioned RHP Blas Castaño to Triple-A Tacoma.
Castaño was serving as starting pitching depth for spring training. The 27-year-old is on the 40-man roster, so we guess he’s technically the seventh starter in Seattle, but it’s hard to see him getting many chances after pitching to a 5.19 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and 97/51 K/BB ratio in 126 2/3 innings at Triple-A in 2025.
  • SEA Right Fielder #99
Mariners reassigned RHPs Tyler Cleveland and Michael Morales, OFs Lazaro Montes and Spencer Packard, and C Nick Raposo to minor league camp.
The 21-year-old Montes is one of Seattle’s top prospects, but he hit just 4-for-25 in 11 spring training games with a 10/1 K/BB ratio. He also hit .213/.319/.433 with 14 home runs and a 30.5 percent strikeout rate in 64 Double-A games to end the 2025 season. He will likely head back there to start the 2026 season.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #69
Yankees LHP prospect Brock Selvidge will miss the entire 2026 season following elbow surgery.
Selvidge is the Yankees’ 15th-ranked prospect and posted a 4.92 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and 61/38 K/BB ratio in 75 games at Double-A in 2025 after he had biceps surgery in 2024. He will be 24 when he returns to the mound in 2027.
  • MIL Shortstop #90
Jett Williams (quad) will return to spring training action on Thursday.
Williams, who came over from the Mets in the Freddy Peralta trade, has been out since February 23rd, when he injured his quad running out a triple. He was never likely to break camp with the Brewers, but he could be an option at shortstop of third base by the middle of the season.
  • LAA 1st Baseman #20
Angels reassigned INF Niko Kavadas, LHP Angel Perdomo, and RHP Jared Southard to minor league camp.
Kavadas hit 28 home runs in Triple-A last year, but he also slashed .235/.362/.479 with a 31 percent strikeout rate.Southard pitched to a 3.68 ERA in 66 innings split between Double-A and Triple-A last year, while Perdomo, who was signed in November, who was signed away from the Athletics this offseason, registered a 5.52 ERA in 14 2/3 Triple-A innings after returning from injury.
  • PIT 2nd Baseman #5
Brandon Lowe was scratched from Wednesday’s game with “lower body tightness.”
Lowe is “expected to go through a normal practice session” instead, so this doesn’t seem to be a major issue. However, it is something you should monitor over the next couple of days.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #50
Bryce Miller (oblique inflammation) will throw a “standard bullpen” on Wednesday.
A standard bullpen means that Miller will not just be throwing fastballs, but his full pitch mix. He has been sidelined since the end of February. If this bullpen goes well, Miller could return to spring games in the next week and potentially be ready to start the season. Given Miller is also dealing with bone spurs in his elbow that he pitched through last season, he remains a risky pick in fantasy baseball.
  • TB 1st Baseman #2
Rays manager Kevin Cash said Yandy Díaz (sore left hand) will return to spring training games on Friday.
Díaz will have been out about five or six days, so there is no real concern here. He remains a solid target in fantasy baseball if you’re looking for batting average and runs scored, but expect a clear power regression now that he is not playing in a minor league ballpark.
