Adam Liberatore (elbow) struck out two batters in a perfect inning Tuesday in his rehab debut with Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Liberatore got roughed up for two runs on three hits in his one appearance with High-A Rancho Cucamonga, so Tuesday night’s dominant outing at the Triple-A level comes as an especially encouraging sign. The left-hander should be ready to rejoin the Dodgers’ bullpen by the end of this week. He boasts a 1.62 ERA in 33 1/3 innings this year in the majors.

Rays re-signed RHP Brian Van Belle to a two-year minor league contract.
Van Belle made his major league debut with the Rays in August, allowing five runs over 8 1/3 innings in four appearances, before finishing up on the injured list with elbow soreness and then undergoing surgery. He’s expected to miss all of 2026, but the Rays will have compete for a spot in 2027.
Okamoto could be 'undervalued' 2026 fantasy asset
The Blue Jays continued their strong offseason by adding Japanese star Kazuma Okamoto on a four-year deal, leaving Eric Samulski to assess what his presence means for Toronto's offseason plans and fantasy assets.

ESPN’s Buster Olney reports that Munetaka Murakami’s contract specifies that he can’t be sent to the minors unless he gives permission.
The Mets had a similar clause in their contract with Japanese RHP Kodai Senga. It’s noteworthy in Murakami’s case because he comes to Major League Baseball with some strikeout concerns. If he were to have an extended period of struggle at the start of the season, the White Sox would not be able to have him work it out in Triple-A unless he agreed. Of course, the White Sox aren’t likely to be competitive this season, so he’d likely be given a long lease regardless. But that’s noteworthy for fantasy managers.

Dodgers signed RHP Brusdar Graterol to a one-year, $2.8 million deal to avoid arbitration.
This is the same salary that Graterol made last year before he missed the entire 2025 season while recovering from shoulder surgery. With Edwin Diaz now in town, the Dodgers don’t need Graterol to fill a high leverage role, so he will likely be given plenty of time to work himself back into meaningful innings.
  • LAA Center Fielder #53
Angels claimed OF Wade Meckler off waivers from the Giants.
Meckler spent most of last season at Triple-A Sacramento, hitting .287/.390/.370. He’s a left-handed hitter who can play all three outfield positions and still has minor league options. That will make him valuable outfield depth for the Angels.
  • CHC Right Fielder #19
Craig Mish reports that the Marlins acquired OF prospect Owen Caissie, and INF prospects Cristian Hernandez and Edgardo Deleon from the Cubs in exchange for RHP Edward Cabrera.
The deal is pending physicals. Caissie is the 47th-ranked prospect in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline, and a solid return for Miami in exchange for three years of Edward Cabrera. Despite being unable to break into the Cubs’ lineup in 2025, Caissie hit .286/.386/.551 with 22 homers in 99 games for Triple-A Iowa. He did miss time at the end of the season with a concussion, but Caissie pairs solid power with a consistently high walk rate, which helps to offset some of his strikeout concerns. The likely profiles best in right field and will join an exciting young outfield in Miami that also features Kyle Stowers in left field and Jakob Marsee in center field.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #27
Craig Mish reports that the Cubs acquired RHP Edward Cabrera from the Marlins for OF prospect Owen Caissie and INFs Cristian Hernandez and Edgardo DeLeon.
Cabrera’s name has been floated in trade rumors for a while now, and it seemed like something was close between the Marlins and Yankees; however, the 27-year-old, who has three more years of team control, will apparently be traded to the Cubs instead, as long as everybody passes their physical. Cabrera re-invented himself a bit last season, swapping out his four-seam fastball for a sinker that he could command much better. That led to a 3.53 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and a 150/48 K/BB ratio over 137 2/3 innings in 26 starts. There’s a possibility that the Cubs could get even more out of him, but he will immediately slot in as the third or fourth starting pitcher behind Shota Imanaga, Cade Horton, and Matthew Boyd. The Cubs should also get Justin Steele (elbow) back at some point before the summer, which will make this rotation even deeper.
  • BAL 1st Baseman #43
Orioled designated 1B/OF Jhonkensy Noel for assignment.
Noel was just claimed on waivers on Monday, but will now be let go after the Orioles were able to land INF/OF Marco Luciano on waivers earlier today. Noel will hope somebody else wants to take a flyer on his big-time power and limited contact.
  • KC 3rd Baseman #5
Royals signed INF Josh Rojas to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
We’re only a few years removed from Rojas being an impact utility player for the Diamondbacks. Unfortunately, the last two years outside of Arizona have not been kind to him, and he hit .180/.252/.259 with two homers and four RBI in 211 plate appearances with the White Sox last season. He can play all over the infield, so the Royals will hope that they can help him recapture some of the 2022 magic.

Cubs claimed LHP Ryan Rolison off waivers from the White Sox.
So far this offseason, Rolison has been designated for assignment by the Rockies, traded to the Braves, designated for assignment by the Braves, claimed by the White Sox, designated for assignment by the White Sox, and claimed by the Cubs. That’s a busy couple of months. The 28-year-old Rolison posted a 7.02 ERA in 31 appearances for the Rockies in 2025.
  • COL Relief Pitcher #71
Rockies claimed RHP Keegan Thompson off waivers from Cincinnati.
The Reds signed Thompson to a one-year, $1.5 million deal on November 4th and then designated him for assignment just two months later without ever throwing a pitch for them. The 30-year-old spent all of 2025 in Triple-A for the Cubs, but he had posted a 3.64 ERA in 227 1/3 innings for the Cubs from 2021-24. This is a nice gamble for the Rockies.
