Marlins acquired OF Brayan Hernandez, RHP Brandon Miller, RHP Pablo Lopez, and RHP Lukas Schiraldi from the Mariners for RHP David Phelps.
Hernandez is the headliner in the four-player return package for Miami. The 19-year-old center fielder got a $1.8 million signing bonus on the international market back in 2014 and was considered a top-10 prospect in the Mariners’ minor league system leading into the 2017 season. He has promising tools but is a long way from reaching the big leagues.

Yoán Moncada went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI in the Angels’ 7-1 takedown of the Yankees on Tuesday.
Mike Trout, Jo Adell, Jorge Soler and Oswald Peraza also homered in the outburst. Moncada’s was his second of the year. He has a terrible 37-percent strikeout rate so far, which is why he’s batting .184. But the power and walks are still there, at least; he taken 11 free passes and also been plunked a couple of times, leaving him with a .355 OBP that’s nearly double his average.
Is there larger issue with Crochet's performance?
Eric Samulski discusses Red Sox ace Garrett Crochet's disastrous outing against the Twins and whether fantasy managers should be worried about his performance moving forward.
  • LAA Relief Pitcher #48
Reid Detmers yielded one run through seven-plus innings and struck out nine against the Yankees in a win Tuesday.
Detmers, who spent last year in the Angels pen, completed seven innings for the first time since Apr. 22, 2024. He had a shutout going into the eighth, when he was lifted after a double and a single to start the inning. It’s the 12th time in his career that he’s struck out at least nine. He generated whiffs on 17 of 51 swings and posted a 35-percent CSW. Detmers will bring a 1-1 record and a 3.57 ERA into his next start at home against the Padres.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #40
Ryan Weathers struck out 10 in five innings on Tuesday but also gave up four homers and five runs in a loss to the Angels.
Nine of the 10 balls in play against Weathers were flyballs sent at least 295 feet. Six were hit at least 100 mph, three topped 110 mph and four turned into homers ranging from 396 to 445 feet. Really, he’s fortunate Yankee Stadium didn’t factor in any turn any of the shorter flies into homers. Plus, he was due for a night like this after going without allowing a homer in his first three starts (he’s given up a homer every six innings over the course of his career). Weathers dropped to 0-2 with a 4.29 ERA. He’ll face the Royals on Sunday.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #34
Kevin Gausman didn’t factor in the decision Tuesday after allowing three runs over five frames against the Brewers.
  • LAA 3rd Baseman #2
Oswald Peraza went 3-for-3 with a homer and a walk against his former team in the Angels’ win over the Yankees on Tuesday.
Peraza was out of the lineup three of the previous four games, including on Monday even though he homered in his start Sunday. This pushes him up to .267/.327/.511 for the season, which should put him back in line for more playing time at the expense of Adam Frazier and Vaughn Grissom.
  • NYY Designated Hitter #27
Giancarlo Stanton went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in the loss to the Angels on Tuesday.
Stanton went 10-for-20 with a homer in the Yankees’ first five games in March, but he’s just 7-for-38 with no homers this month. He’s also hitless in 12 at-bats against lefties this season, so it’s worth wondering if maybe Ben Rice should be starting over him when the Yankees want Paul Goldschmidt in the lineup against southpaws.
  • TB Starting Pitcher #65
Jesse Scholtens will make a bulk relief appearance on Wednesday against the White Sox.
Scholtens will take the ball after opener Cole Sulser. The 32-year-old was called up over the weekend when starter Joe Boyle hit the injured list with elbow inflammation. He’s tossed 4 2/3 scoreless innings in the big leagues this season. It’s a decent enough matchup that he might have some appeal as a streaming option in extremely deep mixed leagues.
  • CLE 3rd Baseman #11
José Ramírez homered and stole a base in an extra-inning loss to the Cardinals on Tuesday.
  • STL Shortstop #26
JJ Wetherholt homered twice to help the Cardinals to a 6-5 win over the Guardians on Tuesday in 10 innings.
  • CLE Relief Pitcher #36
Cade Smith blew a save while allowing an unearned run over one inning against the Cardinals on Tuesday.
